As a Data Integration Architect, this role will play a pivotal role in designing, constructing, and maintaining our healthcare data warehouse. This warehouse will be responsible for ingesting, storing, and organizing data from various sources, including Electronic Medical Records (EMRs), HRIS systems, CMS, and other healthcare data repositories. This role expertise will be crucial in ensuring data quality, security, and availability for analytics and reporting. In this role, you will report to the Manager of Analytics and Engineering.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement robust ETL/ELT processes to ingest data from diverse healthcare sources into the data warehouse. Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with healthcare standards and regulations

  • Apply extensive knowledge of healthcare data, including patient records, medical codes (ICD-10, CPT), and healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA), to guide data integration efforts

  • Utilize advanced SQL skills to design and optimize complex queries, create stored procedures, and maintain SQL Server databases. Continuously monitor and improve database performance

  • Design and implement the data warehouse's architecture and data models to meet healthcare analytics and reporting needs

  • Document data integration processes, data lineage, and data dictionaries to ensure data governance, lineage tracking, and compliance

  • Leverage experience in integrating Health Information Exchange (HIE) Admissions, Discharges, and Transfers (ADT) data to enhance the overall data integration capabilities, ensuring seamless connectivity and interoperability with external healthcare systems

  • Implement rigorous security measures to safeguard sensitive healthcare data and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders, to understand data requirements and deliver actionable insights

  • Continuously optimize the data warehouse's performance, including indexing, partitioning, and query optimization

  • Establish efficient data loading schedules and automate ETL processes to keep data up to date

  • Other responsibilities as assigned


Required Skills/Abilities/Knowledge:

  • Proficiency in advanced SQL and database design

  • Experience with cloud platforms like Snowflake

  • Extensive experience with ETL processes, data warehousing, and EMR data

  • Deep knowledge of healthcare data standards, regulations, and best practices

  • Previous experience in building and maintaining data warehouses

  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communications

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment

  • Knowledge of SQL Server administration and maintenance


Education/Experience/Licenses/Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field

  • 7-8 years of experience as a Data Integrations Architect, with a focus on healthcare data
