The Team: The Core Intelligence team is part of the AI Org, which is Geico’s strategic investment with the mission to transform Geico into an AI-first company. AI org is led by Vice President, Head of AI. AI Org is in the Technology, Product and AI (TPA) org at Geico. TPA is led by the Chief Technology, Product and AI Officer, who reports to the CEO of Geico. 

The Role Purpose: We are looking for seasoned  
Data Scientist with acute product sense and rich operational experiences to lead applications of AI for Geico’s business needs. The candidate should build close partnerships with product and engineering leadership across the company. This role will report directly to the Senior Director of Machine Learning and Data Science. 

 

Responsibilities: 
To be successful in this role, you will need: 

• Deep and the latest knowledge and hands on experiences of data-driven product development cycles for ML and LLM. 

• Mastery of data science and machine learning concepts as well as its applications in various business and product contexts. The familiarity of large language model technologies is preferrable. 

• Be the go-to expert in the company to facilitate the product development of AI applications via disciplined data science practices. 

• Guide cross-functional partners and team members to drive the business impact of AI product development based on exploratory DS research, experiment design, launch analysis and industry projections. 

• Keep up with the latest development of DS/ML from the community and  
  bring the knowledge to the org. 

• Provide data science and product advice to the Head of AI and Chief AI Officer with regard to AI applications. 

 

Qualifications: 

• Master’s degree in computer science or relevant technical field, or  
  equivalent practical experience. Advanced degree preferred. 

• Deep understanding of DS and ML. 

• Extensive and deep experience in industry-scale AI product development cycles. 

• Experience in mentoring junior data scientists. 

• 8+ years of leadership experience with a team is preferred.
