Edwards Lifesciences is seeking a visionary and execution-focused Senior Director of Data & AI Integration to lead our enterprise-wide data engineering, integration, and analytics functions. This leader will be instrumental in shaping and executing our data and AI strategy, enabling transformative insights across various business domains.

How you’ll make an impact:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Define and drive the enterprise data and AI integration roadmap, aligning with Edwards’ mission to improve patient outcomes through innovation in structural heart disease.

  • Champion a modern data and AI architecture that supports scalability, agility, and innovation.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead and grow high-performing teams across data engineering, data integration, and advanced analytics.

  • Foster a culture of innovation, agility, and continuous learning.

  • Provide technical mentorship to senior engineers and architects.

AI-Driven Integration:

  • Spearhead the integration of AI/ML capabilities into data pipelines and platforms to enable predictive insights, intelligent automation, and real-time decision support.

  • Drive adoption of Agentic AI frameworks to enable autonomous, goal-driven systems that enhance decision-making and operational efficiency.

Enterprise Data Architecture:

  • Oversee the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and interoperable data platforms. Platforms such as data lakes, data warehouses, ETL tools, data quality and MDM.

  • Ensure seamless integration with AI capabilities using platforms such as Snowflake, AWS Bedrock and AWS Athena.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Partner with business units and functions to identify high-impact opportunities for data and AI to accelerate innovation and operational excellence.

  • Promote a product-centric mindset for data and analytics capabilities.

Governance & Compliance:

  • Ensure adherence to data governance, privacy, and AI ethics standards.

  • Establish robust data quality and lineage practices across the enterprise.

Innovation & Thought Leadership:

  • Stay ahead of emerging trends in Agentic AI, data mesh, and cloud-native architectures.

  • Represent Edwards in external forums and industry groups on data and AI innovation.

What you’ll need (Required):

  • Bachelor’s in related field + 17 years’ experience -or- master’s degree in related field + 14 years’ experience

  • 7+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or AI, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.

  • Proven track record of delivering enterprise-scale data and AI solutions in healthcare, life sciences, or similarly regulated industries.

What else we look for (Preferred):

  • Cloud data platforms: Snowflake, AWS (especially Athena), Azure

  • AI/ML frameworks: TensorFlow, PyTorch, AI development tools like LangChain, or similar

  • Agentic AI systems and orchestration frameworks

  • Modern data integration tools and real-time data streaming

  • Strong understanding of data governance, security, and compliance in a global enterprise.

  • Demonstrated ability to set technical strategy and provide hands-on mentorship to engineering teams.

  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.

Aligning our overall business objectives with performance, we offer competitive salaries, performance-based incentives, and a wide variety of benefits programs to address the diverse individual needs of our employees and their families.

For California, the base pay range for this position is $187,000 to $265,000 (highly experienced).
