How you’ll contribute:

  • Develop and lead a high-performing IT organization, attracting top talent, fostering innovation, and cultivating a culture of operational excellence, agility, and continuous improvement.
  • Set and execute the enterprise IT strategy to enable business growth, scientific advancement, and operational excellence, with a strong focus on scalable platforms, automation, and emerging technologies including AI and ML.
  • Establish an IT portfolio governance process to prioritize and sequence initiatives, manage dependencies, mitigate risks, and drive transparency across technology investments, resourcing, and budget allocations.
  • Own the IT operating model and budget, ensuring strategic investments are made in alignment with business goals and operational performance is measured and continuously improved
  • Drive the development and integration of AI/ML capabilities across the organization to unlock insights, streamline operations, and enable next-generation data-driven decision-making in both R&D and corporate functions.
  • Partner with executive leadership and functional heads (including R&D, Clinical, Commercial, HR, and Finance) as a trusted advisor to align technology with business priorities and accelerate digital transformation.
  • Define and, if necessary, evolve the company-wide cybersecurity and risk management program, ensuring ongoing threat assessment, compliance with global regulations, and proactive incident response and recovery capabilities.
  • Oversee enterprise architecture and infrastructure, ensuring secure, resilient, and scalable platforms that support hybrid work models, scientific computing, and global operations.
  • Ensure enterprise-wide GxP and regulatory compliance, including implementation of validated systems for data integrity and adherence to SOX, 21 CFR Part 11, GDPR, and evolving data privacy standards.
  • Champion modern data and analytics architecture, including the design and implementation of a unified data platform to support real-time reporting, advanced analytics, and AI model development.
  • Optimize vendor and partner ecosystem management, including outsourced managed services, SaaS platforms, cloud providers, and data/AI partners, ensuring performance, scalability, and value alignment.
  • Lead disaster recovery and business continuity planning, maintaining robust, tested protocols to ensure uptime, data integrity, and uninterrupted business operations.

 

Skills and experience you’ll bring:

  • Proven track record of leading enterprise IT strategy in fast-paced, innovation-driven environments, preferably within biotech or life sciences.
  • Deep expertise in designing and implementing systems that facilitate the organization, accessibility, and reuse of data and studies across scientific and operational teams.
  • Strong background in IT portfolio management, including project prioritization, resource planning, and cross-functional program execution.
  • Demonstrated success as a strategic partner to R&D, Clinical, Commercial, and G&A functions, aligning technology investments with business needs.
  • Expertise in building and scaling modern, secure infrastructure, with a focus on cloud-native platforms, scientific computing, and hybrid work environments.
  • Significant experience with AI/ML technologies, including identifying use cases, evaluating and implementing business-specific tools, and driving organizational adoption through training and change management.
  • Robust understanding of GxP, SOX, 21 CFR Part 11, GDPR, and other regulatory requirements, with experience implementing validated systems to support compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity and risk management best practices, including incident response planning and proactive threat mitigation.
  • Track record of building and mentoring high-performing IT teams, with a focus on innovation, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience managing complex vendor ecosystems, including SaaS providers, cloud platforms, managed service partners, and AI/data technology vendors.
  • Adept at budgeting, forecasting, and measuring IT performance through operational KPIs and business impact metrics.
