As a Data Analyst reporting to the Team Manager of Data Engineering, you will transform raw data into clear, actionable insights that drive product, marketing and operations decisions. You will own dashboards, deep-dive analyses and lightweight predictive models that help us measure and reduce vehicle-crime risk.
Responsibilities:
- Own BI assets – design, build and maintain Tableau/Grafana dashboards and scheduled reports for product, engineering and leadership teams.
- Ad-hoc & exploratory analysis – mine structured and semi-structured data (SQL, Python/R) to answer business questions, quantify opportunities and size impacts.
- Basic predictive analytics – develop and validate regression / classification models (e.g., churn, anomaly-detection) and translate results into recommendations; partner with senior data scientists for model hand-off when needed.
- Data quality & definitions – maintain curated data sets, documented metrics and acceptance tests to ensure stakeholders trust the numbers.
- Stakeholder communication – present findings through slide decks, concise write-ups and data visualizations tailored to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Process improvement – automate recurring analysis, contribute SQL/Python snippets to our shared repo, and suggest instrumentation enhancements.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics or a related quantitative field.
- 2-4 years of professional analytics experience manipulating large data sets and delivering insights.
- Advanced SQL skills (window functions, CTEs, performance tuning) and proficiency in Python or R for data wrangling and visualization.
- Experience with a modern BI/visualization tool such as Tableau, Power BI or Grafana.
- Solid understanding of descriptive statistics, hypothesis testing and basic supervised-learning techniques.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to turn complex analysis into clear business narratives.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) and dbt or similar ELT frameworks.
- Familiarity with A/B testing design and evaluation.
- Exposure to Telematics/IoT data.
- Reside within the Detroit, Michigan area or nearby, with the ability to work in a hybrid environment and regularly commute to our Detroit office as needed.

Compensation Range
Compensation may vary depending on skills and experience.
Base Salary: $79,400 - $111,000
