ECS is seeking talented and driven professionals to support the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H). In this role, you will serve as a scientific and technical advisor to ARPA-H—enabling the agency to manage and provide oversight to advanced R&D efforts; help shape future R&D concepts, programs, and solutions; integrate and advance our nation’s healthcare ecosystem processes, policies, and enabling technologies; and enable the agency to expand its healthcare and scientific scope into yet unknown areas. As a Generative AI Developer, you will provide support and thought leadership to R&D performer teams, Government Program Managers, and stakeholders across the health innovation ecosystem. This role supports the Office of Information Technology and Data Innovation (ITDI).
What you will do:
Serve as AI/ML Expert:
- Lead the ideation/conceptualization, development, deployment, overall strategy, and oversight of multiple programs utilizing generative AI, including large language modelling, statistical methodology, and medical applications.
- Utilize your in-depth generative AI and machine learning (e.g., neural networks, training methods, addresses bias) knowledge and skills to assist ARPA-H in shaping future programs and manage the delivery of multiple disparate performer team.
- Lead project management for the development, testing, and deployment of enterprise AI/ML application solutions.
Analyze and interpret complex data:
- Analyze and interpret complex internal data to uncover actionable insights, informing ARPA-H leadership on opportunities to enhance agency-wide data strategy and innovation initiatives.
- Apply advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to evaluate data innovation projects, supporting program development and optimizing cross-agency data utilization efforts.
Stay current with scientific advancements:
- Actively track and analyze new research findings in this field.
- Identify and propose emerging methodologies and technologies that could enhance the program's progress.
- Participate in scientific discussions and presentations, contributing your expertise to the program's overall knowledge base.
Collaborate effectively within a diverse team:
- Build strong relationships with computational scientists, engineers, and other scientific advisors involved in the program.
- Communicate complex scientific concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Actively participate in brainstorming sessions and problem-solving exercises to drive the program forward.
Salary Range: $100,000 - $180,000

Qualifications- Masters in Computer Science or related scientific field.
- 8 years minimum AI/ML experience
- Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research, analyze data, and write scientific reports.

- Strong work ethic and a passion for healthcare and scientific discovery.
- U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency is required per contract.
