The Business Automation Associate plays a pivotal role in driving process optimization and efficiency within Johnson Lambert. With a focus on financial statement audits, the incumbent is tasked with developing and implementing innovative automation solutions using Alteryx and generative AI. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of accounting principles, data analysis, and a continuous improvement mindset, along with a keen interest in leveraging technology to enhance audit workflows.



Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with financial statement auditors to identify areas suitable for automation, prioritizing opportunities based on potential impact and complexity.
  • Assist in the design, build, and maintenance of automated workflows utilizing Alteryx and generative AI to streamline audit processes, enhance accuracy, and reduce manual effort.
  • Rigorously test and validate automated workflows to ensure their reliability and effectiveness before implementation.
  • Document and communicate to auditors the completed workflows including the procedures performed by Alteryx, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in automation technologies, exploring emerging trends and tools to stay at the forefront of innovation.
  • Continuously evaluate existing processes, seeking opportunities to further optimize and automate, driving operational excellence.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field.
  • At least one busy season completed at JL, demonstrating a strong understanding of the audit process and its challenges.
  • Attention to detail and strong time management skills are essential for this position
  • Proficiency in accounting principles, data analysis techniques, and process improvement methodologies.
  • Eagerness to learn and a proactive approach to problem-solving, embracing challenges as opportunities for growth.
  • Enthusiasm for process improvement, coupled with a positive and forward-looking attitude, to drive positive change.
  • Experience with Python or other coding languages, although not mandatory, would be a valuable asset.
  • Data science experience or education, while not essential, would further enhance the candidate's ability to leverage AI and machine learning techniques.
