Job Description

We deliver industry-leading sorting machines, utilising a broad range of sensor technologies coupled with real-time image processing engines over embedded and PC architectures. As a Software Engineer, you will join the team delivering the software platform for our newest family of sorters, reporting to the Software Team Lead.

Our customers, product management, and sales department are always eager for the next software release, and you will see first-hand the direct impact of your work on the business. You'll work in a fast-paced, competitive market where high-end, high-speed solutions are key to success.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with R&D engineers to develop and enhance the backend of our software platform.
  • Design, develop and optimise new features, improving software performance and architecture.
  • Engage in the refinement of new requirements, propose solutions, and deliver fully tested software.
  • Take ownership of quality at every stage and continuously drive improvements.

Qualifications

About You:

  • Strong experience with C++ (11, 14, 17) & Python.
  • Proficiency in GIT for version control.
  • Pragmatic, analytical and hands-on in your approach.
  • Motivated to work close to the hardware layer.
  • Experience or strong interest in image processing.
  • Committed to quality, considering testing and validation from the outset.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.

Additional Skills/Experience of Interest:

  • Experience with Windows OS, Linux OS, and Docker.
  • Familiarity with setting up and using CI/CD systems.
  • Experience with Qt framework.
  • Knowledge of SCADA, Modbus, OPC UA protocols.
  • Exposure to CUDA, TensorRT, and machine learning concepts.
