Data Analytics Engineer

The Job:

As a Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in transforming data into valuable business insights. Your work will directly contribute to enhancing our business processes and decision-making capabilities.

Main Activities:

• Data Modelling: You will be responsible for creating and maintaining data models that are accurate, efficient, and scalable. This includes developing calculations in DAX that are performant on large datasets and designing effective layouts using best practices in data visualization. Your expertise in data modelling will be crucial in ensuring that our data is structured in a way that maximizes its value and usability.
• Data Ingestion and Transformation: You will ingest data from various corporate sources and perform necessary transformations in the Power BI query editor, using a mix of UI and M code. This will ensure that data is clean, accurate, and ready for analysis.
• Production-Ready Reports and Dashboards: Develop and deploy production-ready reports and dashboards to the corporate platform, making critical business data accessible and actionable.
• Data Analysis for Decision Making: Undertake data analyses to support decision-making, providing actionable insights that drive business growth.
• Compelling Data Stories: By effectively utilizing Power BI’s navigation features (e.g., bookmarks, drill-through), you will guide readers through compelling data-driven stories that highlight key business insights.
• User Documentation and Training: Create user manuals and training documentation to empower stakeholders to make the most of our data solutions.
• Technical Support and Guidance: Provide technical support and guidance through prototyping, testing, building, and launching Power BI products, ensuring that our data solutions are robust and reliable.
• Optimal Data Pipeline Architecture: Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture, ensuring efficient data flow and processing.
• Data Quality and Reliability: Explore ways to enhance data quality and reliability, ensuring that our data is trustworthy and valuable.
• Process Improvements: Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements, such as automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, and redesigning infrastructure for greater scalability.

Technical Skills required:

• Advanced SQL knowledge and experience with relational databases, query authoring (SQL), and familiarity with various databases, both structured and unstructured.
• Experience in root cause analysis on data and processes to answer business questions and identify improvement opportunities.
• Building processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency, and workload management with ETL Tools or Spark workflows.
• Proven history of manipulating, processing, and extracting value from large datasets with an ETL.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services (e.g., Data Factory, Storage Accounts, Logic Apps, SQLdb).
• Ability to transform client requirements into powerful stories told through engaging visuals in Power BI.
• Understanding of the full suite of Power BI products (Product/Feature/Performance).
