What does your team do:

The Data Services and Business Intelligence team support the analytics and reporting needs of AssetWatch by helping to organize, manage, and improve how data flows through our systems. We work with databases, data pipelines, and dashboards to ensure accurate and timely data is available for decision-making. As a team, we collaborate with engineers and analysts to help build scalable reporting solutions, improve data quality, and make sure business teams have access to the insights they need.

What You’ll Do:

As a Junior BI Engineer, you’ll contribute to and support the development internal analytics capabilities. You’ll work closely with senior BI engineers and business teams to deliver actionable insights, build scalable reporting solutions, and continuously improve how data is leveraged. This is a hands-on, learning-rich role ideal for someone with 1 to 3 years of experience in BI, data, or analytics who’s ready to grow into a more advanced engineering role.

  • Build and maintain data visualizations and dashboards using AWS QuickSight (or similar tools).
  • Support data integration and transformation across platforms like Salesforce, AWS RDS, and Vitally.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify key metrics, reporting needs, and actionable insights.
  • Document data pipelines and BI workflows to support scalability and repeatability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve data discrepancies, ensuring data accuracy and availability.
  • Contribute to team sprints and help prioritize analytics requests from across the organization.

Who You Are

  • You have 1-3 years of experience working in a BI, data, or analytics role and are eager to grow in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to balance getting things done with building for the future.
  • Enjoy working on small teams and having your work make a real impact.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.) and writing performant SQL.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (QuickSight, Tableau, Power BI, etc.).
  • Basic Python, scripting, or data transformation experience (e.g., with dbt or pandas).
  • Exposure to data modeling, data warehouse concepts, or analytics engineering best practices.

We have a distributed team that works remotely across locations in the United States and Ontario, Canada. We are open to candidates from most states, as long as we all can closely collaborate within core working hours.
