The Role: 

We are seeking a Software Engineer II to support the MLOps team in building the platform that powers machine learning at Generate. In this role, you'll contribute to the development and maintenance of tools, APIs, and infrastructure used to train, evaluate, and deploy ML models that are core to our therapeutic discovery process.

You’ll work closely with experienced engineers and ML scientists to expand the capabilities of our ML platform and streamline research workflows.

Here's how you will contribute:

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of core platform features used for ML model training, evaluation, and deployment
• Build APIs and services that orchestrate training workflows
• Use AWS services to help design reliable and secure infrastructure
• Help develop Kubernetes-based deployments and collaborate with DevOps engineers
• Work cross-functionally to understand user needs and implement solutions aligned with platform goals

The Ideal Candidate will have:

• 2+ years of software engineering experience
• Proficient in Python and familiar with object-oriented design
• Comfortable working with AWS (e.g., ECS, Lambda, EC2)
• Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL
• Exposure to or interest in distributed systems and microservices
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
