As a Data Analyst with a strong focus on Data Governance, you play a critical role in bridging business needs with data management best practices. Working closely with cross-functional stakeholders and leveraging tools within the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem, you support the development of governance frameworks, improve data quality, and deliver actionable insights through data analysis and visualization. You will also assist our teams in effectively using Power BI, ensuring data transparency and decision-making based on data reliability, consistency, and traceability.

Key activities and responsibilities of this role include:

  • Business Analysis & Requirements Engineering: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, define, and document business and data requirements. Translate them into data models, metrics, and reporting specifications aligned with governance goals.
  • Data Governance & Quality: Support the implementation and continuous improvement of data governance policies and quality standards, ensuring compliance with internal guidelines and external regulations (e.g., GDPR).
  • Data Visualization & Reporting: Design, develop, and maintain interactive and visually compelling dashboards and reports using business intelligence (BI) tools like Tableau or Power BI.
  • Data Analysis & Insights: Uses data analysis to support decision-making processes. Interpret data from various business systems, generating insights that help improve business operations, reduce inefficiencies, and highlight potential risks related to data governance.
  • Collaboration with Stakeholders: Act as a liaison between business units and IT, facilitating clear communication of data governance requirements and data usage practices.
  • Present analytical results and dashboards in a manner that is accessible to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Training & Support: Assist with the selection, implementation, and use of tools that help manage data governance (e.g., metadata management systems, data quality tools) and deliver Power BI training sessions to business users, focusing on report navigation, self-service capabilities, and best practices.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field.
  • 5 plus years of experience as Business or Data Analyst or related role. Internships and academic projects may be considered.
  • Ability to interpret complex data, perform statistical analysis, and derive actionable insights that inform business decisions.
  • Familiarity with tools for data analysis, visualization (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), and database management.
  • Proven experience in developing tabular data models (DAX) and optimizing Power BI reports for usability and performance.
  • Proficiency in SQL for querying and transforming data across different relational systems.
  • Solid understanding of data governance principles, data quality management, and compliance standards
  • Experience in tools such as Microsoft Purview, Collibra, or similar platforms is a plus.

  • Be able to analyze complex data-related problems, identify trends, and propose actionable solutions that align with business and IT needs.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are necessary for conveying business requirements, presenting data insights, and explaining governance policies to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to build relationships with various stakeholders, influence decision-making, and facilitate collaboration between departments.
  • A deep understanding of the industry and business processes that drive data governance decisions, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Ability to evaluate different solutions, anticipate potential challenges, and think strategically to propose innovative solutions for data governance issues.
  • Skilled in prioritizing tasks, managing competing deadlines, and ensuring that projects are completed on time.
