The Role:
At WorldQuant, the CEO Direct team serves as a strategic enabler: streamlining complex decision processes, uncovering emerging challenges, and facilitating clear communication between employees and senior leadership. In this pivotal role, you’ll harness your deep expertise in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data analytics to transform vast amount of structured and unstructured data into actionable insights that guide executive decision-making. As an AI Research Scientist on the CEO Direct team, you will be instrumental in translating sophisticated data patterns into clear, strategic recommendations. You’ll work closely with senior management and cross-functional groups to simplify decision-making, proactively identify hidden challenges, and stimulate productive and insightful discussions across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Innovative Research & Insight Generation:
- Lead advanced AI research to explore novel deep learning, LLM, and machine learning methodologies that support streamlined decision-making.
- Translate complex organizational data and multifaceted challenges into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership.
Model Development & Implementation:
- Design, develop, and fine-tune AI models and analytical frameworks tailored to detect emerging challenges and operational inefficiencies.
- Ensure solutions are scalable and directly support effective strategic and tactical decision-making across the organization.
Strategic Communication & Collaboration:
- Act as a key interface between grassroots insights and executive decision-makers, transforming technical findings into comprehensible, high-level recommendations.
- Foster open dialogue by engaging with various stakeholders, ensuring that data-driven narratives inform the CEO Direct team’s strategic discussions.
Enhancing Transparency & Accountability:
- Create and maintain robust dashboards, reports, and communication tools that clearly outline team objectives, follow-up actions, and realized outcomes post-discussions.
- Develop processes to track the impact of decisions and ensure that innovative ideas are effectively integrated into strategic plans.
Continuous Improvement & Thought Leadership:
- Stay current with the latest trends in AI, machine learning, and data visualization, applying emerging techniques to further enhance decision support practices.
- Mentor team members and share insights across the organization to encourage a culture of data-driven innovation and transparency.
What You’ll Bring:
- A Ph.D. or equivalent advanced degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field from a top-tier institution.
- At least 2 years of experience in a role focused on research in the AI, ML, DL, RL, or LLM space.
- Extensive research experience with a strong track record in AI, including work on deep neural networks, LLMs, or other advanced machine learning approaches.
- Proficiency in Python and experience with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow; familiarity with C++ is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to apply AI research to real-world problems, particularly in handling and analyzing large and complex datasets.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the capability to simplify complex ideas for diverse audiences.
- A passion for innovation and the drive to continuously push the boundaries of what AI can achieve in quantitative finance.

WorldQuant is a total compensation organization where you will be eligible for a base salary, discretionary performance bonus, and benefits. The estimated salary range for this position is $150,000 which is specific to New York and may change in the future. When finalizing an offer we will take into consideration an individual’s experience level and the qualifications they bring to the role to formulate a competitive total compensation package.
