What we’re looking for

Due to the continued growth of the business and the importance of the data we use daily, we are currently looking for an intern data engineer to join our global Data Science team in Sao Paulo.

What will you be doing
 

You will have the opportunity to support the Data Engineering team in key initiatives that contribute to the company’s internal processes. Your role will focus on maintaining and improving tools developed in R (including R Shiny applications), Excel spreadsheets, and SQL workflows used for data collection, price calculations, report generation, and automated data production.

In addition, you will contribute to the development of robust and automated processes in R, helping to improve operational efficiency and ensure high-quality data delivery.

Our team is directly involved in critical business activities, with daily deliverables and strict deadlines. That’s why we’re looking for someone who is proactive, agile, and adaptable, and eager to learn how data projects work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the development and maintenance of data processing systems:
  • Contribute to improving data workflows with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
  • Assist in maintaining and updating existing systems based on evolving business needs.
• Inter User Support:
  • Help with the integration of company data and metadata into internal team systems.
  • Provide basic support for data validation and troubleshooting related to data access and delivery.
  • Assist in resolving technical issues in tools such as Excel and R Shiny.
• Application Development and Improvement:
  • Participate in the creation and enhancement of applications built with R Shiny, under team guidance.
• Data Management:
  • Use basic SQL commands to update metadata, ensuring data consistency and organization.
  • Support data cleaning and validation processes to maintain high data quality.
  • Assist in performing regular data checks to identify and correct potential issues.

Skills and Experience

•         Basic knowledge of R: Interest in or initial experience using the R language to create simple tools or applications, including R Shiny.

•         Foundational SQL skills: Basic understanding of SQL and relational databases (such as Oracle or MySQL), including simple data query and manipulation operations.

•         Teamwork and independence: Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues while also managing individual tasks responsibly.

•         Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, in Portuguese and English, especially when interacting with different areas of the company.

•         Educational: Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
