Ocado - Greece (acquisition)

Our R&D department is in Athens, Greece, where a team of brilliant engineers is developing disruptive material handling systems for the online grocery industry and other retail verticals. We pioneer innovative order fulfilment solutions and last-mile delivery business models tailored for retailers and supply chain-intensive sectors. How you'll spend your days...

As a Software Engineer, you'll be responsible for participating effectively in all stages of our systems development life cycle, collaborating closely with the wider department across GR, USA and UK.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Building advanced robotic-related applications
  • Developing code in accordance with the system design and coding standards, with minimal supervision
  • Reviewing code
  • Writing unit tests
  • Maintaining, monitoring, and improving existing services

Requirements

  • Learning fast & being a strong team player
  • Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar degree
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills both in Greek and English
  • Willingness and ability to continue learning and assimilating new technologies
  • Strong C++ skills
  • OOP and software design experience
  • Familiarity with Linux
  • Experience in the full Software Development life-cycle from design to deployment
  • Experience with git
  • Understanding of CI, unit testing, testing methodologies, pipelines, code-checkers and other tools to maintain high quality, reliable code

Nice to have

  • Experience working in a large or mid-sized team
  • Strong Python skills
  • Familiarity with Robotic applications
  • Experience with ROS (preferably ROS2)
  • Experience with game development
  • Familiarity with CI pipelines
  • Familiarity with serial communication (CAN, CANOpen, SPI, I2C, TCP/IP, UDP)
