THE ROLE:

As the Sales Development Manager, you will lead and develop a high-performing team of Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) responsible for pipeline generation and early-stage customer engagement. This is a player-coach role with an emphasis on strategy, training, process optimization, and day-to-day team leadership. You will work closely with sales, marketing, and revenue operations to ensure that BDRs are aligned, enabled, and performing at the highest level.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Hire, onboard, coach, and mentor a team of SDRs focused on qualifying inbound and outbound leads across the AI/MLOps ecosystem.

  • Set clear team targets and KPIs for outreach, pipeline generation, and opportunity creation; regularly report on team performance and forecast results.

  • Partner closely with Sales and Marketing to align SDR messaging, campaign strategies, and qualification criteria.

  • Implement best-in-class sales development practices, tools, and processes to optimize productivity and conversion rates.

  • Provide ongoing training and feedback on prospecting techniques, objection handling, product knowledge, and CRM hygiene.

  • Analyze outreach performance (emails, calls, LinkedIn, etc.) to iterate and improve messaging and targeting.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5–10 years of experience in sales or business development leadership

  • Proven success in building, scaling, and managing high-performing BDR or SDR teams.

  • A strong understanding of the AI/ML or developer tools ecosystem; familiarity with MLOps trends is a significant advantage.

  • Data-driven mindset with a strong command of CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and sales engagement tools (e.g., Outreach, Salesloft).

  • Excellent communication, coaching, and motivational skills.

  • High energy, entrepreneurial drive, and a passion for developing talent.

  • Experience working in a high-growth startup environment.
