Description

The Person
We are seeking a mid-level Data & Software Developer who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You’ll be a driven problem-solver with a strong technical foundation in SQL development and cloud platforms—ready to jump between resolving day-to-day operational issues and building longer-term systems that power business growth.

You’ll work closely with operations, finance, and clinical teams, translating business needs into robust, data-driven tools and services. If you are proactive, adaptable, and enjoy variety in your day—from quick fixes to strategic development—you’ll fit right in.

Key Responsibilities

SQL Development: Build and maintain relational databases and semantic models using SQL and Azure SQL.
Cloud Systems: Develop, deploy, and support services across the Azure stack (e.g. Azure SQL, Azure Functions, Logic Apps).
Automation: Use Power Automate to create and optimise workflows for business and clinical operations.

Scripting & Tools: Write custom scripts and tools using Python or JavaScript to support process automation and integration.

Collaboration: Work closely with operations, finance, and clinical teams to understand requirements and deliver practical, scalable solutions.

Firefighting & Strategic Work: Balance quick-turnaround technical issues with longer-term development of robust systems and infrastructure.

Documentation & Best Practice: Follow best practices for version control, testing, and documentation.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:
  • 2+ years of experience in software or data development roles
  • Strong SQL development experience, including Azure SQL or equivalent platforms
  • Programming proficiency in Python or JavaScript
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure services or other Cloud platforms
  • Experience building business process automations (e.g. Power Automate)
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving and prioritisation skills
Desirable:
  • Experience with Azure Functions, Logic Apps, or Azure Data Factory
  • Knowledge of REST APIs and system integration
  • Familiarity with healthcare IT standards (e.g. HL7, DICOM, FHIR)
  • Background in healthcare, health-tech, or regulated environments
  • Experience in fast-growth, entrepreneurial teams
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical discipline

What DMC Will Offer You in Return

  • 25 days of annual leave, in addition to bank holidays. Increasing with length of service.
  • Access to NHS Discount.
You will be supported by, and work within, a diverse multi-skilled professional team of clinical and non- clinical individuals. In return we offer flexible working, family friendly policies, career progression within an expanding organisation, a competitive salary and benefits package.
