Role Profile

As Technical Lead, Site Reliability Engineering (DevOps) you will be responsible to lead the DevOps functions. This role combines deep technical expertise in modern DevOps practices with people leadership and business collaboration to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of post-trade services.

As DevOps Technical Lead, you will play a pivotal role in transforming traditional IT operations into agile, automated, and cloud-native practices. You will lead engineering teams, manage incidents, drive continuous improvements, and support infrastructure strategies to enable high service availability, reduce operational toil, and improve time to resolution.

Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of cloud, DevOps, observability, and automation engineers.
  • Provide strategic guidance and oversight to ensure service reliability, scalability, and performance.
  • Champion a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Collaborate with senior management and collaborators to align infrastructure strategy with business goals.
  • Support divisional cloud transformation strategies, SRE adoption, and compliance with SLAs/SLOs.

Cloud Infrastructure & Operations

  • Design, implement, and manage highly available and scalable cloud infrastructure across AWS and Azure.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices using Terraform and Ansible.
  • Drive automation of provisioning, scaling, and decommissioning of cloud resources to optimize costs and reduce manual effort.
  • Ensure system availability, performance, disaster recovery, and resource planning.

CI/CD & Automation

  • Lead CI/CD strategy and development using Jenkins and GitLab, ensuring streamlined and reliable release processes.
  • Standardize and automate operational processes, incident responses, and environment setups.
  • Use scripting (Python, Shell, Bash) to automate repetitive tasks and accelerate delivery.

Observability & Monitoring

  • Establish and govern observability standards and tooling consistency across teams.
  • Monitor systems through Datadog and related tools to detect degradation and proactively resolve issues.
  • Define and track SLIs, SLAs, SLOs, and key performance indicators.
  • Lead periodic reviews with service owners to identify anomalies, optimize operations, and minimize downtime.

Incident & Problem Management

  • Lead on-call incident management rotations and ensure 24/7 support readiness.
  • Conduct in-depth root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (RCAs/PCAs).
  • Maintain and improve auto-remediation tools and self-healing systems.
  • Develop standardized response playbooks and reduce mean time to recovery (MTTR).

Engagement & Governance

  • Manage relationships across business, tech, and leadership layers.
  • Chair review meetings, present metrics and incident reports, and contribute to executive decision-making.
  • Support audit, risk, and compliance processes tied to cloud, infrastructure, and service delivery.
  • Identify and mitigate operational risks, keeping within defined appetite.

Candidate profile / Key skills

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure/Cloud Management roles.
  • Prior leadership experience in a matrix or agile environment is preferred.

Technical Expertise

  • Strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.
  • Expert in CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitLab.
  • Proficient with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and Ansible.
  • Deep understanding of monitoring and observability tools, especially Datadog.
  • Proficient in scripting (Python, Bash, Shell) and implementing automation and self-healing mechanisms.
  • Hands-on knowledge of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with cloud databases such as SQL Server, Amazon Aurora, PostgreSQL, Document DB.
  • Solid grasp of Snowflake and Oracle DB is a plus.

Certifications (Preferred)

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional).
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
  • ITIL certification is a strong advantage.

Leadership & Communication

  • Superb communication and a standout colleague
  • Proficient in MS Office tools, ServiceNow, and PowerBI systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to chair meetings and influence across layers.
  • Hard working and dedicated individual.
  • Must be a quick learner and strives to understand the root cause of issues
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
