What can you expect:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Solution Architect to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering innovative IT solutions and exceptional support to our internal client base that align with MMC’s technology standards. Our team is committed to excellence, continuous improvement, and providing top-tier service. This senior-level individual contributor role will partner with our agile teams to bring your solution architecture skills to assist in the design and delivery of various initiatives to support our business. The ideal candidate will have a deep technical background, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently at a high level.


We will count on you to:

  • Work with our partners to understand business and technology problems or opportunities.
  • Provide process, guidance and governance on technology obsolescence, component re-use and platform modernisation.
  • Design, document and communicate solution designs that accommodate the Agile Principles of fail fast and provide the resilience necessary to accommodate changing and fluid requirements.
  • Incorporate reuse, standardisation and security-by-design into your solution designs to simplify, secure and accelerate technology delivery.
  • Be innovative in your design thinking and use your expertise to influence the MMC technology roadmap.
  • Take your architectural designs through our on boarding processes to ensure they meet MMC’s standards and conventions.
  • Participate in architecture reviews as part of MMC’s Architecture Assurance process.
  • Support the implementation of architectural designs – from infrastructure set up through to delivery – as necessary.
  • Provide support for our teams and business partners for cost estimations during budget cycles.
  • Empower the development teams to deliver your architectural designs with a light touch approach.
  • Be an involved member in our technology community, championing the latest technologies and trends within MMC and the wider industry, sharing your knowledge, successes and learnings with your colleagues.
  • Bring a shift left mentality, ensuring that automation and efficiencies are enabled through the solution design.

What you need to have:

  • Self-motivated to excel in a position whereby you will be required to collaborate effectively with a remote team.
  • You are a self-starter; you can take initiative without waiting for direction.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and deadlines.
  • You are used to working and communicating with both business and technical stakeholders at varying levels of seniority.
  • Extensive experience in designing and communicating technology solutions that can be traced back to requirements.
  • An inquisitive mind set with a track record of seeking out and implementing new technologies and architectural patterns.


Required AI Competency:

  • AI Evolution & Business Impact: Analyze the evolution of AI technology and its implications for business strategies to identify opportunities for innovation and efficiency.
  • AI Governance, Security, Compliance, and Ethics: Ensure compliance with AI governance frameworks, focusing on bias detection, data privacy, and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Generative AI, LLMs, NLP, & Computer Vision: Utilize generative AI and large language models (LLMs) to create intelligent applications, with knowledge of models like GPT and Gemini, prompt engineering, and RAG integration.
  • AI-Augmented Development Engineering: Integrate AI tools into the software development lifecycle to enhance coding practices and code reviews (e.g., GitHub Copilot).
  • Agentic AI & Autonomous Systems: Design autonomous systems using agentic AI to automate tasks and improve operational efficiency.
  • Cloud AI & ML Services: Utilize AI and ML services from major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) to build scalable, intelligent applications, including model training and deployment.
  • Machine Learning (ML) & Deep Learning (DL) Fundamentals: Apply ML and DL principles to design data-driven solutions that enhance business processes.
  • Continuous Learning & Collaboration: Stay open to learning about emerging AI tools and methodologies while collaborating effectively with data architects, AI engineers, and technical experts to design and implement intelligent solutions that meet business needs.


Technical skills or qualifications required:
Significant experience with the following technologies, architectures & methodologies:

  • MEAN stack, .Net core, Python or any other middleware technologies
  • Multi Factor Authentication
  • Single Sign On (OAuth, SAML)
  • Containerisation / Kurbenetes
  • Microservice based architecture
  • Secure By Design concepts
  • Secure DevOps
  • Exposure to Big Data / Data Lake / BI Tools
  • Application Performance Monitoring (APM) techniques
  • Agile
  • Recognised document standards (C4, UML, Archimate)
