We are looking for a Support Engineer – Cosmos DB to join us as we build cutting-edge technology solutions!  This is your opportunity to be part of a team that is committed to delivering best in class service to our customers.

In this role, you join a high-impact support team focused on assisting enterprise customers using a globally distributed NoSQL database platform. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys deep technical problem-solving, customer interaction, and helping shape the user experience through feedback and continuous improvement. You’ll troubleshoot production issues, optimize performance, and collaborate with internal engineering resources to drive solutions forward.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional technical support to customers using a distributed NoSQL cloud database service.
  • Investigate and resolve issues related to performance, data modeling, scalability, and availability.
  • Analyze logs, metrics, and telemetry to identify root causes and drive solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams to resolve advanced issues and improve platform reliability.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, knowledge articles, and reusable guidance content.
  • Stay current on product updates, best practices, and evolving features in the NoSQL and cloud ecosystem.
  • Provide clear communication and education to customers, ensuring a high-quality support experience.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years in technical support, software engineering, or cloud/database operations.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of NoSQL databases and concepts (data modeling, partitioning, consistency).
  • Hands-on experience with at least one NoSQL database (e.g., Cosmos DB, MongoDB, Cassandra).
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot distributed systems or cloud-hosted applications.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to explain complex topics clearly.
  • Experience working cross-functionally and managing multiple customer issues in parallel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • In-depth expertise with Cosmos DB, including its APIs (SQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, Gremlin, Table), SDKs, and tuning strategies.
  • Experience in customer-facing roles such as technical support, field engineering, or consulting.
  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools, cloud monitoring, and incident response processes.
  • Ability to script or automate with PowerShell, Python, or C#.
  • Enthusiasm for cloud technology, learning, and improving customer outcomes.

Salary Range

Pay ranges vary based on multiple factors, including—but not limited to—skill sets, education, responsibilities, experience, and geographical market. The pay range for this position reflects geographic-based ranges for Washington state: $50,000 to $60,000 USD annually, with a midpoint of $55,000. The final salary/wage and job title for this opening will be determined based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience and may fall outside this range.
