In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our customers in the public sector and you will be responsible for developing new business by identifying profitable opportunities, maintaining your client portfolio by building strong, long-lasting relationships, and monitoring the progress of the projects, with the aim to provide excellent client service and added value services.
What will you be bringing to the team?
- Design, develop, and maintain advanced software applications in the fields of Machine Learning (ML), and/or Artificial Intelligence (AI);
- Perform data mining and apply machine learning algorithms to extract insights and develop predictive models;
- Train and fine-tune custom machine learning/deep learning models based on structured and unstructured data;
- Interact with stakeholders to define the data rules;
- Design and implement data-driven solutions for the acquisition, integration, processing, and storage of large volumes of structured and unstructured transport-related data from internal and external sources, in alignment with business and policy needs;
- Perform data exploration, cleansing, and validation to ensure integrity, completeness, and consistency of the data;
- Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure, including the setup of databases and integration with platforms
- Extract insights from complex datasets by identifying patterns, trends, and correlations using statistical analysis and machine learning techniques;
- Develop interactive data visualisations and dashboards to communicate findings and insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders;
- Analyse the performance of existing models and propose enhancements based on validation results;
- Write technical and scientific documentation.
Requirements
What do you need to succeed in this position?
- Excellent knowledge of Python and R, including ML libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, pandas), and AI frameworks.
- Proven experience in designing and training machine learning and deep learning models (e.g., SVM, k-NN, neural networks).
- Experience in aligning AI/ML techniques with operational requirements.
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
- Solid understanding of data management, including data modelling, metadata handling, and data governance.
- Experience with data analytics over big datasets, non-structured databases as well as data lake and data warehouse architectures.
- Good knowledge of cloud platforms, especially AWS, for scalable AI and data processing solutions.
- Experience in code versioning control tools, especially Git.
- Experience in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, matplotlib).
- Ability to understand, speak and write English C1. Italian B1 will be an advantage;
- Policy experience in developing IS systems for the implementation of and data management within the EU policy domain
