Summary:
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Data Architect with a passion for Master Data Management (MDM) to play a pivotal role in shaping and driving our data strategy. You will lead the design, development, and implementation of a secure and scalable data architecture that underpins our organization's current and future data needs, with a particular focus on master data for our CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) operations. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in Oracle Fusion Cloud, Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and on-premise systems to architect and implement a robust MDM solution, ensuring data governance, security, scalability, and performance across our manufacturing and product data. As a trusted advisor to business and technical stakeholders, you will collaborate effectively to ensure data is accessible, reliable, and empowers data-driven decision making.
Specific Competencies:
- MDM Expertise: Strong understanding of MDM principles, methodologies, and best practices for managing master data domains in a CPG environment.
- Cloud Technologies: Proven experience in designing and implementing data solutions using Oracle Fusion Cloud and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Data Architecture: Expertise in designing and implementing secure and scalable data architectures that consider data governance, security, scalability, and performance.
- Data Modeling: Deep understanding of data modeling concepts, methodologies, and tools for designing logical and physical data models, especially for master data entities.
- Data Integration: Experience in designing and implementing data integration strategies to seamlessly combine data from diverse sources.
- Data Governance: Understanding of data governance principles and ability to collaborate with data governance teams to establish and enforce data ownership, access control, and quality standards.
- Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with business stakeholders, data engineers, analysts, and IT teams.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of a comprehensive data architecture for MDM, focusing on CPG manufacturing and product data.
- Select and integrate appropriate data management technologies and tools for the MDM solution, leveraging Oracle Fusion Cloud, Google Cloud Platform and on-premise systems expertise.
- Develop and maintain logical and physical data models that effectively represent the organization's master data entities and relationships.
- Design and implement data integration strategies to seamlessly consolidate master data from various sources.
- Collaborate with the data governance and quality team to ensure data quality standards and governance procedures are aligned with the MDM architecture.
- Partner with business stakeholders to define data ownership and stewardship for master data domains.
- Develop frameworks, standards and templates for carrying out the data architecture practice.
- Document data architecture components and processes for knowledge sharing and ongoing maintenance.
- Foster a data-driven culture within the organization by mentoring junior team members and promoting best practices.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, MIS, or related area and significant experience with data modeling, data architecture or enterprise architecture.
- 7+ years of experience with reading and writing SQL.
- 7+ years of experience in data architecture, with a strong focus on Master Data Management (MDM).
- Proven experience in designing and implementing data solutions using cloud and on-premise technologies, preferably Oracle Fusion Cloud and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Experience with data modeling tools, design and methodologies.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional data projects.
- Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the CPG industry including Master Data domains (i.e. Product, Customer, Supplier).
- Experience with data governance frameworks and methodologies.
- Experience with data quality tools and techniques.
- Experience leading and mentoring data teams.
- Experience with data engineering and integration frameworks and methodologies.
- Experience with Enterprise Architecture concepts and methodologies
- Certifications for enterprise architecture, data architecture or data management (i.e. DAMA Certified Data Management Professional)
LOCATION: Austin, MN – Global Headquarters (Preferred). Secondary locations: Willmar, MN or Minneapolis, MN.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Travel may be necessary 10% of the time.

At Hormel Foods, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base hiring pay range for this role is between $117,200-$164,000 per year, and your actual base pay within that range will depend upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skill set, level of experience, and geographic market location.
