POSITION PURPOSE:
The Data Analyst supports data-driven decision-making by designing, developing, and maintaining insightful reports, dashboards, and analytics using SQL and JasperReports. This role will collaborate with business units to understand their data needs and ensure accurate, timely, and actionable information is available. The ideal candidate brings strong SQL skills, preferably in a Snowflake environment, and has a clear understanding of relational databases and reporting tools.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Designs, writes, and optimizes complex SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from enterprise databases, leveraging Snowflake (preferred) to support business reporting needs.
• Develops and maintains operational and strategic reports using JasperReports, transforming business requirements into clear, visual, and actionable insights.
• Partners with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs and identify key performance indicators (KPIs), delivering regular and ad-hoc analysis to support decision-making.
• Conducts data validation and quality assurance on reports and queries to ensure content accuracy and consistency; identifies and troubleshoots data issues.
• Creates and maintains documentation for technical processes, data sources, report definitions, and data dictionaries to ensure transparency and knowledge sharing.
• Supports ad-hoc reporting and analytics requests; contributes to cross-functional data projects by providing data insights and solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS – EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

The requirements listed below are representative of the education and/or experience required.

Education/Work Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Statistics, or a related field required. Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a Data Analyst or Reporting Analyst role. Strong proficiency in SQL and relational databases required.
Experience with Snowflake or other cloud data platforms preferred. Hands-on experience with JasperReports or similar business intelligence tools required.

License/Certifications:
• Preferred but not required
◦ Certified Analytics Professional (CAP)
◦ Snowflake SnowPro Core Certification
◦ SQL Certification

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Strong SQL proficiency for data querying, analysis, and reporting.
• Experience with JasperReports and understanding of dynamic, pixel-perfect reporting formats.
• Understanding of data integration, data warehousing concepts, and ETL workflows.
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms, especially Snowflake, preferred
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; ability to solve complex problems independently.
• Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to explain technical topics to non-technical audiences.
• Effective collaborator with ability to work across teams and with stakeholders at various levels.
• Capable of adapting to change and learning new tools and technologies quickly.
• Familiarity with API-driven data sources and modern BI best practices.
• Strong documentation and organizational skills to support transparency and repeatability of work.
• Ability to work at the Support Center consistent with the hybrid work policy.

The pay range identified is the hourly or salary rate El Pollo Loco expects to pay for the posted position. This range does not include any benefits or bonus opportunities that might be available for the position based on position and eligibility criteria. Individual pay will vary based on a variety of factors including years of experience, industry experience, education, geography, etc.
