Now is the time to build on those learnings, shifting from a divisional/functional approach to an enterprise approach with an Enterprise Center of Excellence (eCoE).

The Opportunity:

The eCoE will focus on three areas: delivering a high level of financial expertise, innovative insights, and an entrepreneurial mindset that enables agility and flexibility for stakeholders.  The eCoE will be a talent engine for Finance through capability building and network building. 

There are three focus areas within eCoE:

  • Financial Backbone

  • Digital Innovation

  • Analytics and Insights

While there are three focus areas and clusters, we are not seeking to create silos.  We are seeking individuals who embody the Finance Mindset and Behaviors and will support a living organism that leverages the business knowledge and financial expertise of the network to deliver exceptional results for Finance and Roche.  Team members will partner with our shared services (RSS), FEPs ,and the Business to deliver many of Finance's core processes and deliverables while also driving process scaling/simplification/harmonization and progressing our digital ambition.  Ensuring business continuity is a must.

As a member of eCoE and as the Finance Insights & Data Analyst, you will bring strong business acumen and technical expertise, together with the ability to work in a self-aligning team with minimal hierarchy. 

You will work in a dynamic environment and manage many business relationships in PT and across Pharma, such as R&D and Commercial. You will meet the challenge of finding the right balance in an environment with risk and reward trade-offs.

Your enterprise view and linking PT, commercial, and R&D will be a significant success factor for the role that allows you to connect the information received through various channels and analyze the impacts in PT Financials and beyond.

As part of this role, you will monitor the financial results in coordination with the key stakeholders both in the US and outside, especially at our HQ. You will also analyze and communicate the actual and forecast results to the Head of PTD Finance, OneR&D, and the unit Finance teams. You will be a key Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for the Head of PTD Finance, working closely on various matters that impact PT R&D's financial results.

Leading the PT R&D planning process involves helping to develop assumptions and a story, working closely with PT Finance Enterprise Partners, other R&D unit SPOCs, and the eCoE on monthly PTD LT financial communication, MTO, and TO events, to ensure alignment with the overall storyline. 

As a subject matter expert on technical accounting and with a good understanding of the PT Digital landscape for reporting, provides Product & Site FEPs guidance on key financial processes, including planning and month-end closes. 

There may be other US and global PT finance work packages to be included, such as inventory allowance, where your expertise may be required by taking the capacities allowed into consideration.

Key capabilities for each Focus area

Planning + Analytics & Insights

  • An analytical mindset and the ability to communicate data-driven insights

  • Data management and integration, and/or data infrastructure and design

  • Hypothesis generation and testing

Financial Backbone

  • Deliver compliant, high-quality financials

  • Solid understanding of finance processes and systems

  • Ability to work across Divisions and Functions, working E2E with an enterprise view

  • Experience scaling, streamlining, and harmonizing financial processes and systems

Digital Innovation

  • Experience with global systems and process architecture at Roche

  • Experience with integrating financial planning or establishing end-to-end processes on a global scale

  • Passionate about digital transformation and catalyzing those changes across the network

  • Passionate about solving complex problems and / or simplifying cumbersome processes by utilizing and adopting digital solutions

Who you are

  • You have at least 10 years of experience in a multinational financial management environment paired with a master's or equivalent degree in finance or accounting. 

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing finance with previous expertise in FP&A and consolidation related to COGS and Inventory

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, ACCA, or CPA preferred. Experience with internal controls and external audits is preferred.

  • A passion for change, simplification, and process improvement, as well as the ability to see through complexity and identify and remove waste

  • Resilience and ability to adjust to a fast-changing environment. Strong interpersonal skills, collaboration, and influencing skills, and ability to build trusting and productive relationships

  • Ability to understand the business context and to apply judgment towards prioritization and decision-making.

  • Entrepreneurial spirit and curiosity that is inspirational to others, generating ideas and seeing them through to action

  • Ability to navigate through a complex, broad, and diverse organization and can liaise effectively with different organizations.

  • Fluent in English and good communication skills

Relocation benefits are not available for this position.

The expected salary range for this position, based on the primary location of California, is between $135,900 and $252,500.  Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.  A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.  This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
