🔍 About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Software Engineer - AI Engineer to contribute to the development of intelligent food inspection systems. You will work on deploying deep learning models for real-time image analysis using embedded platforms like NVIDIA Jetson.

You’ll work closely with all other team members within Innovation, like Electrical Engineers, Project Managers and Mechanical Engineers.

Your work will directly impact food quality and safety across the industry.

🧠 Key Responsibilities

• Optimize deep learning models for object detection and semantic segmentation.
• Integrate AI models into embedded systems using NVIDIA Jetson platforms.
• Optimize inference performance using TensorRT and Docker-based deployment pipelines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop robust, scalable vision solutions.
• Implement and maintain computer vision pipelines using OpenCV and other libraries.

• Hold a degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar technical field.
• Programming Languages: Proficiency in Python and C++.
• Containerization: Hands-on experience with Docker for development and deployment.
• Deep Learning Frameworks: Experience with YOLO (You Only Look Once) and semantic segmentation models. Demonstrates curiosity for emerging techniques such as diffusion networks, instance segmentation, and regression-based models.
• Computer Vision: Solid understanding of OpenCV and image processing techniques.
• Programming Expertise: You'll program both the HMI and PLC of our machines, requiring experience with various programming environments. Proficiency in Structured Text is essential, and familiarity with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), Ladder Logic, or Function Blocks is a plus.
• Experience with key platforms like B&R, Rockwell, Telemecanique, and SigmaTEK (including Lasal, SigmaTEK’s Structured Text-based OOP development environment) is highly valued.
• You are proficient in both Dutch and English, spoken and written.
• You are willing to travel 20-30% of the time.

• Background in food technology or industrial automation.
• Embedded Systems: Familiarity with NVIDIA Jetson platforms (e.g., Xavier, Orin).
• You have experience programming industrial machines.
• Operating Systems: Strong experience with Linux environments.
