Finance Data Analyst

Huntsman is seeking a Finance Data Analyst supporting the Financial Planning & Analysis located in San Jose, Costa Rica. This position will report to the Financial Planning & Analysis Manager.

Job Scope

As a Finance Data Analyst II, you will build scalable data models and impactful visualizations to translate business goals into clear financial insights that support strategic decision-making across finance and operations.

In summary, as the Finance Data Analyst, you will:  

• Develop presentations around insights that can be understood by a variety of audiences - strategic, tactical, operational; and across functions - commercial, operations, finance, etc.
• Assist with design of patterns for model deployment and development which are scalable, repeatable, and simple.
• Apply knowledge of statistics, programming, and data modeling to recognize patterns, identify opportunities, test business hypotheses, and make valuable discoveries leading to operational savings or growth.
• Build strong multi-functional relationships among other teams.
• Assist with the design, implementation and deployment high-performance, efficient solutions and visualizations.
• Assist with translation of business objectives and priorities to help build a strategic analysis.
• Collaborate across teams to solve challenging, high-value analytical problems.
• Partner with key business areas to translate insights into solutions that can be validated and implemented
• Recommend ongoing improvements to methods currently in use/production.
• Assist with delivering informative and effective findings, results, and recommendations from statistical analysis to stakeholders, both technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
 
The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in Costa Rica.

Minimum Qualifications

• Degree in business analytics, statistics, computer science, or equivalent/related degree
• 2-4 years of related experience
• A good understanding of data visualization tools and database interfaces
• Critical view on data accuracy
• Knowledge of Power BI and DAX
• Experience with creating data visualizations

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Watson, SQL, VBA, Alteryx, Databricks, R, or Python
• Knowledge of statistical modelling
• Knowledge of MS Power BI and IBM Planning Analytics
• Knowledge of finance and financial statements

Skills and knowledge

• Strong computer skills using Excel and PowerPoint 
• Very strong analytical and numerical skills
