Multiple Levels Open (Mid-Level to Staff)
StrongDM applies deep tech to hard problems for demanding cybersecurity customers. Our embrace of large language models continues that tradition, helping enterprises gain control over complex infrastructure with clarity, automation, and intelligence.
We’re building a new team focused on agentic AI — systems that can intelligently assist with real-world operational tasks. This is an opportunity to join from the ground up and help shape the future of secure, AI-driven systems.
You’ll work closely with our co-founder & CTO, contributing to a product that is both deeply technical and mission-critical to global organizations.

What You'll Do:

Depending on experience level, responsibilities may include:
Designing and building performant, secure, and scalable distributed systems powering our AI-driven features.
Developing APIs, SDKs, real-time systems, and secure networking protocols to meet enterprise-grade standards.
Integrating cutting-edge AI models and frameworks to improve system intelligence and resilience.
Writing high-quality, maintainable code using systems-level languages (Go, Rust, C/C++, etc.).
Collaborating closely with engineering peers, product managers, and security experts.
(For senior+ levels) Leading initiatives, mentoring engineers, and contributing to technical architecture.

Requirements:

Authentic conviction that AI systems can improve outcomes for ourselves and our customers.
4+ years of experience developing distributed systems in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), preferably serving enterprise customers.
Strong systems background in operating systems, distributed architectures, networking, concurrency, and database fundamentals.
Expert command of Go, Rust, C, C++, or similar languages with an emphasis on high-performance, secure, systems-level programming.
Demonstrated experience with agentic AI systems leveraging advanced large language models (LLMs).
An AI-first approach, using modern AI tools to enhance software engineering practices, research, and product innovation.
Exceptional problem-solving skills, proven leadership qualities, and strong communication capabilities.

Bonus Qualifications:

Experience in training custom AI models or implementing novel AI frameworks.
Background in cybersecurity, networking, or enterprise-scale permission systems.
