Duties, Responsibilities & Other

As a Data Analyst, you will:

  • Perform modeling and analysis of structured and unstructured datasets to develop metrics, reports, and visualizations of trends and patterns
  • Utilize analytic platforms and data governance strategies to create a seamless experience for users
  • Identify, extract, clean, transform, validate, and model data using various technologies and languages
  • Support analysis of the effectiveness of programs, and summarize and present data to enhance future efforts
  • Interact with stakeholders to create and leverage business intelligence capabilities in support of business objectives
  • Deploy the implementation of business intelligence, data visualization, reporting tools, and dashboards based on available data and KPIs to drive decisions
  • Gather and confirm user requirements for various analytics projects
  • Develop and implement efficient data collection strategies
  • Perform required data cleaning and manipulation prior to analyses
  • Identify and troubleshoot unanticipated data problems or unexpected results and provide solutions to resolve identified concerns.
  • Collaborate with a cross-functional team of managers, analysts, engineers, and customers to identify and develop project-specific KPIs and how best to present them. 
  • Stay current on latest technologies and methods
  • Regularly interact and build relationships with managers, customers, and business partners
  • Support development of proposals in response to Request for Proposals (RFPs)
  • Support business development and marketing initiatives by meeting with customers and prospective customers, attending industry events, and giving presentations
  • Comply with all KCI policies and procedures
  • Complete other duties as required/assigned
  • Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, Geography, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field is required.
  • Experience may be substituted for degree.
  • Minimum three years of experience as a Data Analyst or similar role
  • Experience providing GIS consulting services is strongly preferred
  • Experience in transportation, water, and state/local government markets is strongly preferred
  • Knowledgeable of data analysis methods and techniques
  • Experience with current data and analytics platforms and tools
  • Demonstrated experience to learn quickly and apply new technologies to solve problems 
  • Ability to develop and maintain deep knowledge of customers, data, business, and markets 
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate well with colleagues and customers, both written and oral
