Business Intelligence Engineer

Job Purpose:

The Business Intelligence Engineer executes our data-driven initiatives. This leader is pivotal in harnessing the power of data across all business operations. Gathering data from various sources, the Business Intelligence Engineer transforms raw data into actionable insights to be delivered to the relevant stakeholder via tools like Power BI.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has no direct reports.

Essential Functions:

•Strategy & Leadership: Work with Business Intelligence team to execute a holistic BI strategy that aligns with company goals and objectives.

•Infrastructure Management: Collaborate with IT, BI Team members, and outside consultants to identify and gather necessary data. Maintain and optimize Azure Server operations, ensuring data integrity, security, and accessibility

•Data Analysis: Oversee the transformation and analysis of raw business data, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and facilitating timely delivery of subsequent business reporting

•Power BI Expertise: Design, develop, and deploy Power BI dashboards and reports to end users. Ensure that all business units are equipped with the data visualizations they need to make informed decisions.

•Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with various department heads and senior management to identify information needs and deliver insights. Train and educate end users on use of reports.

•Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest in BI trends, tools, and best practices. Implement initiatives to continuously enhance the BI function. Ensure internal customers’ needs are met as changes arise.

Competencies:

•Expertise in Power BI including DAX, SQL and other coding languages, and database management

•Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage cross-functional teams.

•Strong understanding of data warehousing, ETL processes, and data modeling.

•Enterprise level row level security

•Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.

•Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

•Skills in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring staff.

•Ability to network with other professionals in the industry.

Work Environment:

Generally, works in an office environment and visits work sites as needed.

Travel Requirements:

•Ability to travel up to 25% of work time.

Required education and experience:

•Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.

•7+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or a related field.

Preferred education and experience:

•Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.

•7+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or a related field.

•Experience in construction and/or tree industry preferred
