Your role as a Analytics Engineer

Reporting to Steve Mercier, VP of Engineering - Platform, you will contribute to bridge the gap between data engineering and business analytics. This role is ideal for someone who is highly proficient in SQL, has experience working with modern data stacks, and can own the end-to-end flow of data from ingestion to insight. You’ll partner with technical and non-technical stakeholders to model, transform, and deliver data that drives key business decisions.

About the Data Development team and its mission

Dialogue’s Integrated Health Platform™️ supports the health and wellness of millions of people across 49,000+ organizations. We operate a reliable, highly-available, multi-tenant software architecture that powers several white-label mobile applications for our members, as well as desktop software used by our operations team to deliver care.

The Data team’s mission is to streamline the development of data products by building and operating valuable data technologies. These technologies aim to improve the availability, reliability, accuracy, security, and agility of the data architecture and its data integrations as we continue to grow.

Currently, our data team is focused on three aspects of this mission:

  • Improving the reliability of data pipelines and the accuracy of all of our critical data points
  • A data productization initiative, to democratize access to important data points and treat those data products as first class citizens in our tech ecosystem
  • A data governance initiative, ensuring proper change management and versioning is performed on important/critical data points, ensuring good data accuracy

What you’ll be doing:

  • Write complex, performant SQL queries and design scalable data models
  • Build, maintain, and monitor data pipelines using orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, dbt)
  • Transform raw data into clean, reliable datasets for analysis and reporting
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with data engineers, product teams, and business stakeholders
  • Maintain high standards of data quality and documentation across the stack

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

  • Strong SQL skills – ability to write complex queries and structure data models
  • Experience with data pipelines and orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, dbt)
  • A solid understanding of data warehousing and modeling concepts
  • Basic proficiency in Python for data transformation and scripting (you would work with your great Data Engineering team colleagues for complex use cases)
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with both technical and business teams
At Dialogue, your well-being is our priority
Taking care of others also means taking care of our team! Depending on your role and employment status, you could have access to the following benefits:
  • Access to the Dialogue app and virtual mental health support for you and your family
  • Fully funded insurance, health spending account, dental coverage, and fitness reimbursement
  • 4 weeks vacation, 9 wellness days, and 1 volunteer day
  • Hybrid work: 3 days/week in our Montreal or Toronto offices, excluding remote roles
  • Work abroad up to 4 weeks/year
  • Incentive plans, referral bonuses & RRSP matching
  • Learning via Coursera, external training budget & mentorship
  • Optional parental leave top-up
