OVERVIEW:

We are looking for a Junior Data Engineer to join our Data Engineering team. This person will play a key role in validating data pipelines, monitoring processes, supporting the product team, and analyzing data to ensure the quality of our gold tables and reports. 


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Currently enrolled in or graduated from a degree or technical program in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or a related field. 
  • Basic knowledge of PySpark for data manipulation in distributed environments. 
  • Proficiency in SQL for query creation and data analysis. 
  • Analytical skills to identify patterns, anomalies, or data issues. 
  • Good communication skills to work with both technical and product teams. 
  • Proactive attitude to suggest improvements and seek data understanding.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (Optional):

  • Previous experience with cloud data tools (Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, etc.). 
  • Experience with version control tools (e.g., Git). 
  • Knowledge of Python for data process automation. 


WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Assist in validating data pipelines, ensuring data integrity and timely updates. 
  • Analyze and validate “gold” tables (business data layer), identifying possible inconsistencies or issues. 
  • Monitor automated data ingestion, transformation, and delivery processes. 
  • Identify and report issues such as data load delays, ingestion failures, or KPI discrepancies. 
  • Collaborate with business teams to clarify questions related to data and reports. 
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of data governance and monitoring processes.
