Are you passionate about turning data into powerful insights that drive real business decisions? Do you have experience working in financial services or lending environments? If so, we’d love to hear from you!

We’re looking for a Power BI Developer to join our data and analytics team on an initial 12-month fixed-term contract, with potential to extend or transition into a permanent role based on business needs.

As a Power BI Developer, you’ll play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining insightful and visually compelling dashboards and reports. Your work will directly support strategic decision-making across our finance, risk, and operational functions. This is an exciting opportunity to make a measurable impact within a dynamic and data-driven organisation.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards tracking key metrics such as customer uptake, repayment performance, partner activity, default rates, and operational efficiency.
  • Gather requirements from internal teams and translate them into impactful, user-friendly reports.
  • Embed Power BI into web applications or internal portals for seamless, customised analytics experiences.
  • Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) to manage access based on user roles, ensuring data integrity and compliance.
  • Connect to and query large-scale datasets from the data warehouse, optimising for performance and scalability.
  • Design robust data models using Power Query and DAX for accurate and fast reporting.
  • Create automated reporting solutions and manage scheduled data refreshes.
  • Support risk and compliance functions with visual tools to monitor affordability, credit checks, fraud indicators, and regulatory obligations
  • Promote a culture of data literacy through user training and documentation.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Hands-on experience developing with Power BI, ideally within a financial or lending context.
  • Proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M), and data modelling techniques.
  • Experience with Power BI Embedded for external or partner-facing applications.
  • Strong knowledge of Row-Level Security (RLS) for secure role-based access control.
  • Proficient in SQL and comfortable working with relational databases.
  • Demonstrated ability to build dashboards for both operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Understanding of lending-specific concepts such as credit checks, repayment plans, and delinquency.

Desirable (Nice to Have)

  • Experience integrating Power BI with cloud-based systems (e.g., AWS).
  • Familiarity with customer behaviour analytics and payment plan performance.
  • Awareness of compliance and reporting standards in the consumer finance space.
