Job Description:

This person will be assisting senior CMBS and cross-sector strategists. The successful candidate must be able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment with a particular focus on attention to detail while handling multiple projects simultaneously. Among other responsibilities, the role will include maintaining, updating and analyzing data across many of the securitized products sectors. Analyst will also be responsible for helping internal and external clients with data or other ad-hoc requests and working with senior members of the team to create/update presentations and assist with written research.

Good communication and data management skills are a must, as the role involves both internal and external client interactions where market strategy ideas are presented. In addition to the items listed above, the strategist will also help guide projects between mortgage technology, trading, and other partner groups

Tasks:

  • Assist with creation and publication of research reports and presentations covering cross-sector strategy, commercial real estate and CMBS markets
  • Interact with internal and external clients to articulate the team’s views and respond to client requests
  • Support the trading desk(s) with analysis of particular bonds or asset classes as requested
  • Support the sales force by helping facilitate data requests and analysis
  • Follow market news and current events and have the ability to integrate into published work
  • Use databases to store, manipulate and report on large amounts of data.
  • Knowledge of Intex, Intexcalc, Bloomberg, Python, SQL, Relational Databases, Excel

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, or Finance background a plus)
  • Prior experience in structured finance or commercial real estate a strong plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good data management skills and the ability to work with large, complex spreadsheets
  • Strong work ethic and focus on attention to detail; exercise strong quality control over own work.
  • SQL/Database, Excel/VBA/Python skills, or prior experience with similar data processing languages highly preferred
  • Excel in a fast paced environment while handling multiple projects simultaneously

Pay and benefits information

Pay range

$70,000.00 - $175,000.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.

Discretionary incentive eligible

This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary award based on their overall individual performance results and behaviors, the performance and contributions of their line of business and/or group; and the overall success of the Company.
