A full-time Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) is needed to implement experiments, recruit subjects, assist in data collection (behavioral, MEG, EEG and MRI), perform data analysis, help train and supervise undergraduate researchers and interns, and maintain secure research records and perform basic administrative tasks. NSF funding for PI and co-I effort is extremely limited, and so a full-time CRC is needed to perform most of the day-to-day work of the lab with regular, but time-limited direct supervision from professional staff. Note that the proposed research involves interaction with students at Salem State University, which has a subcontract on the grant that support this work, and colleagues at University of Connecticut who may pursue related work using simulation methods. The CRC would play a role in facilitating these interactions.

The CRC will work independently under limited supervision while participating in research related to human speech and language perception. The position will involve exposure to all aspects of the research process in a lab that is at the forefront of the development and use of effective connectivity and neural decoding analyses of multimodal brain imaging data to explore the processing interactions that support spoken language perception.

The work will include:
-Subject recruitment, stimulus development, experiment implementation and execution
-Subject testing including MRI and MEG/EEG scanning, data analysis, some MatLab and Python programming related to the implementation of data analysis, computational simulation and visualization tools, database management, and minor administrative work
-Training of undergraduate interns and student researchers in behavioral research methods
-Will involve training in multimodal imaging techniques, effective connectivity analyses, neural decoding, machine learning techniques, spectral and timeseries statistical analyses, and speech recording, synthesis, analysis and digital editing techniques
-Basic research administration including secure maintenance of lab records and support of ordering and required reporting

The following skills/abilities/competencies are required:
-Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in Cognitive Science, Computer Science, Linguistics, Psychology, Neuroscience, or a related field; Previous experience working in a research lab setting is desired. Prior experience with neuroimaging techniques such as MRI, EEG or MEG is preferred, but not required.
- Solid programming skills (especially Matlab and Python) and the ability to acquire new technical skills are essential
- Familiarity with basic statistics
- Given the amount of training and experience necessary to master the skills required for the position, we have a strong preference for applicants who are able to make a commitment through June 2027.
