See yourself in our team 

You’ll join the Service Management Modernisation (SMM) Program, a strategic initiative driving DevSecOps transformation across the bank. Our mission is to simplify and automate operational processes, empowering service owners and engineers to focus on innovation. You’ll work closely with a newly formed squad embedded in SRE Engineering, collaborating with a Product Manager and engineers across business units to solve real-world challenges through automation, data, and AI.

Cultural fit and attitude first. Main responsibilities as Principal Software Engineer: 

• You’ll be a technical leader and strategic thinker, driving the design and delivery of scalable, AI-powered solutions. You’ll bring deep expertise in GenAI, cloud platforms, and modern engineering practices to guide teams, influence architecture, and shape the future of our technology landscape.

• Lead the design and implementation of GenAI solutions across the enterprise, with a focus on platform engineering, prompt engineering, and knowledge engineering.

• Build and scale GenAI capabilities, including infrastructure for model fine-tuning, deployment, and monitoring.

• Stay ahead of emerging trends in AI/ML, LLMs, and cloud technologies, and translate insights into actionable strategies.

• Ensure compliance with data privacy and governance standards in all AI initiatives.

• Drive automation and simplification of compliance and operational processes through data, dashboards, and system integrations.

Tech skills:  

You will need to be across a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all deeply but experience or exposure to some of these will set you up for success in this team:

• Languages: Python, TypeScript, Golang

• AI/ML: LLM fine-tuning, LangChain, Semantic Kernel

• Databases: Vector/Graph DBs

• Cloud: AWS, Azure

• Practices: DevSecOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, API design

• Other: Customer engagement systems, automated testing frameworks

• Proven experience as a Principal Engineer or Technical Lead in large-scale, cloud-native environments (AWS, Azure).

• Deep expertise in GenAI, LLMs, and ML frameworks (e.g. LangChain, Semantic Kernel).

• Strong programming skills in Python, TypeScript, or Golang.

• Experience with vector/graph databases and non-deterministic testing approaches.

• Demonstrated success in platform engineering, including infrastructure design, scalability, and reliability.
