About Us
The Diagnostics Compliance Operations department is responsible for the data and process baseline along the entire chemical-legally compliant and sustainable product lifecycle (e.g. development, transport/handling, marketing and disposal) of all Roche Diagnostics products. This means that we are not only irreplaceable in ensuring compliance for the benefit of our patients, but also pursue the goal of significantly and sustainably reducing the environmental impact of all our products and services. In order to be able to continue to do this successfully, we are looking for YOU with immediate effect.
The Opportunity:
Be a member of a global team responsible for managing data and processes along the entire chemical-legally compliant and sustainable product lifecycle. Support and get assignments for internal and global tasks such as:
Providing Quality oversight for Roche Diagnostics Direct Material Suppliers for the Roche Instruments (existing and in Development). Responsibility includes managing Supplier EH&S Data Questionnaires for Chemical Legislation such as REACH, RoHS, POP, TSCA, California Proposition 65, Packaging Directive, Battery Directive, WEEE
Interacting directly with suppliers, internal customers, and subject-matter experts to ensure thorough evaluation and accuracy of EH&S Data following company standard using appropriate IT tools (e.g. SAP Production Systems, EH&S(M))
Ensuring data governance, quality and integrity (according to the data strategy); as well as performing plausibility checks (e.g. against relevant chemical regulatory legislation)
Eliminate waste by radically simplifying processes with an emphasis on automating redundant manual processes and foster automated report creation for the network using tools such as RPA (Robotics Process Automation, Google App Scripts, Tableaux etc.)
Support the Compliance Operations Team in continuous improvement projects, such as continuous development and automation of the EHS data management for articles or substances/mixtures, IT system architecture and supplier management processes
Who You are:
You are currently enrolled in a Master program, or you finished your studies within the past 12 months prior to the start date related to Environmental Sciences, Life Sciences, Engineering, Data Science, Material Science or in a comparable field.
You are looking for an interesting and versatile internship in the medtech/ diagnostics industry, and you are interested in experiencing a modern working environment.
Furthermore, You are/ You have:
Interest in chemical regulatory compliance and sustainability, EH&S data governance, supplier oversight and stakeholder management
Excellent organizational skills and a flexible approach to coordinate demanding workloads, as well as the ability to adapt to changes
Ability to work effectively and independently within a diverse group of people
Very good Microsoft Office and Google skills
Very good English skills are required. Good German skills is a plus.

Due to regulations, non-EU/EFTA citizens must provide a certificate from the university stating that an internship is mandatory as part of the application documents, and must be continuously enrolled in their university program for the whole duration of this internship.

Duration: 12 months, full-time (40 hours/ week)
Location: Basel
Please note, the internship is not suitable for writing a Bachelor’s/ Master’s Thesis.
