Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, the Head of Data and AI Engineering will be responsible for leading the strategy, development, and implementation of data and AI initiatives across the organization. The role is critical to drive the adoption of data-driven decision-making and foster a culture of innovation within the company.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Specifically, you will: 

• Define and develop the strategy for Data & AI Engineering and Platform engineering, work cross functionally to ensure key stakeholders, business and product requirements are aligned.
• Oversee the design and implementation of scalable data architectures and pipelines to support analytics and machine learning initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for leveraging data and AI to enhance products, services, and operational efficiency.
• Partner with business units to ensure successful execution of critical data projects, driving adoption and ensuring that client needs are reflected as part of the delivery roadmap.
• Ensure data governance, quality, and security standards are maintained across all data initiatives. Manage budgets and resources effectively to optimize the performance of the data and AI engineering team.
• Manage and mentor a team of AI and Data Specialists, data scientists, and engineers, providing guidance to ensure the team delivers impactful results while fostering a culture of high performance, innovation and adaptability.
• Ensure that the AI and Data teams remain on the cutting edge by exploring emerging technologies thus promoting a culture of innovation to maintain competitive edge.
• As a senior leader, you will also be responsible for driving change when necessary, delivering communications and directions to the team in supporting the development and engagement of employees at all levels.  
• Promote and build the Alter Domus brand and culture both internally and externally, acting as an ambassador and role model to our people, clients, and customers to embed the Alter Domus Values and to promote our Employer Value Proposition.
• As a director of Alter Domus, you will maintain a relentless focus on cost and budget discipline, driving a culture of accountability.
• Drive a culture of compliance and risk control to mitigate financial, operational and reputational risks.
• Ensure the company maintains the highest Environmental, Sustainability and Governance (ESG) standards.

PROFILE

• You have 10+ years of experience in data engineering, data science, or AI, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.  
• You have a strong track record of leading, designing and implementing data architectures and machine learning models in a financial services context.
• You will have a deep understanding of data architecture, machine learning, and AI technologies, as well as strong leadership skills to manage a diverse team of data scientists, engineers, and analysts.
• You have strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and manage relationships with multiple stakeholders.
• You possess a deep understanding of how to translate product and business goals into tech strategies.
• You have the ability to present complex data and AI insights in a concise, clear manner, making data understandable and actionable to non-technical stakeholders.
• You will have the confidence to challenge the status quo to find innovative solutions
• You will embody a culture of collaboration, transparency, and trust across the team.
