An IT Architect specializing in Data and IT Service Management (ITSM) within an ITIL framework plays a critical role in designing and optimizing technology solutions that enhance business processes. They are responsible for crafting scalable, efficient, and secure architectures for data storage, integration, and governance, ensuring seamless flow and accessibility across the organization. By leveraging ITSM principles, they develop and refine service delivery models, aligning IT operations with business objectives while maintaining compliance with ITIL best practices. Their expertise enables strategic decision-making, helping organizations improve efficiency, mitigate risks, and enhance overall IT service quality.

Primary Job Accountabilities

Designing and building systems architecture:

  • Collaborate with the Business Analyst and Developer to understand date requirements and transform them into enhanced databases and data warehouses.
  • Design scalable, efficient, and high-performance data models to support projects’ requirements.
  • Support Business Analyst and Developer on digital transformation initiatives.
  • Analyze, plan, and define data architecture frameworks, including security, and master data.
  • Create and implement data management processes and procedures.
  • Create blueprints for how data is organized and stored, ensuring efficient data management and retrieval.
  • Design, implement, and configure database systems to meet the organization's needs.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies for data management and analytics following Headquarter standards.
  • Ensure compliance with local, federal, InfoSec and Headquarter standards and regulations.
  • Support the Developer in the migration of data from legacy systems to new platforms and integrate data from various sources.
  • Ensure data security and compliance with data policies and standards.
  • Maintain data accuracy, consistency, and reliability.

IT Service Management and Governance:

  • Oversee the resolution of incidents and problems in our Service Tool, while minimizing disruptions to business operations.
  • Ensure that changes to IT services are planned, approved, and effectively implemented with minimal risk.
  • Assist the IT & Information Security Manager in monitoring and tracking service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure quality and efficiency of IT services. Track
  • KPI’s to assess service effectiveness and drive improvements.
  • Maintain accurate records of IT assets and configurations to support effective service management.
  • Help the team develop and maintain a knowledge base to enhance troubleshooting and decision-making processes.
  • Assist the IT & Information Security Manager to ensure ITSM practices adhere to regulatory, security, and compliance standards.

IT Operations Support:

  • Participate in Kaizen projects.
  • Establish a clear data architecture roadmap that supports project objectives.
  • Work closely with project managers, developers, external vendors, and business analysts to ensure data needs are met.
  • Provide data support to the Data Steward role.
  • Provide data-driven insights to help project managers make informed decisions.
  • Create procedures and technical documentation to ensure data accuracy and compliance.

Knowledge and Skills

Education

Required

  • Four-Year College Degree (BA or BS): Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, or related field.

Experience – Subject Matter Expertise

Required

  • 2-5 years of relevant / progressive work experience (similar field and/or industry)

Preferred

  • 5-10 years of relevant / progressive work experience (similar field and/or industry

Licenses, Certifications & Specialized Skills (if applicable)

Required

  • Knowledge of systems development, including life cycle, project management approaches and requirements, design and testing techniques.
  • Proficiency in data modeling and design, including SQL development and database administration. Knowledge in relational databases (RDBMS), like SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL.
  • Strong knowledge of ETL processes, data warehousing, big data technologies and API’s.
  • High degree of organizational skills with the ability to work in a deadline driven environment. Be able to work efficiently in a teamwork environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
  • Basic Knowledge of programming languages Python, C/C++, Java.
  • Multi-tasking ability - between troubleshooting problems, implementing database design, and other data management responsibilities, you must be able to keep a clear head without losing focus.
  • Excellent communication skills to interpret technical concepts for nontechnical individuals.
  • Knowledge of managing multiple work environments and databases.
  • Customer service-oriented skills, managing users, vendors and working with peers effectively.
  • Diagram Creation tools experience (Experience creating diagrams like: Flowcharts, ERD, UML activity diagrams etc.)

Preferred

  • Knowledge in data analytics and data modeling tools like Power BI and Tableau.
  • Basic knowledge in ITSM & ITIL Framework principles and practices. ITIL Framework v3/v4 Certification preferred.

Additional Comments, Including Unique Circumstances

Work schedule: Monday-Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. In some instances, working overtime and during holidays may be required.
