JOB DESCRIPTION
The role of the Data Engineer is fundamental in the delivery of a best-practice business intelligence infrastructure that will contribute to the delivery of high-quality data analytics in line with business priorities. The successful candidate will be focused on architecting, building, managing, and optimizing data pipelines/models and then moving these pipelines/models effectively into production for key data and analytics consumers (including, but not limited to, MI Analysts and Data Scientists). They will need to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to identify the optimal ways in which requirements can be achieved.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain data models and schema designs that support our business needs.
- Apply standard data modelling and design techniques based upon a detailed understanding of requirements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business objectives and translate them into technical solutions.
- Work with product teams to ensure that data pipelines meet their needs.
- Monitor the performance of data pipelines and resolve issues as they arise.
- Ensure that data is accurate, reliable, and available.
- Develop and maintain documentation for data infrastructure and pipelines.
- Strong experience with ETL/ELT, data modeling, and data integration
- Deep understanding of SQL
- Mandatory experience with Databricks
- Experience with business intelligence tools (Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
- Experience with Databricks or other managed data analytics platforms
- Strong experience with AWS cloud services, including AWS Glue and AWS Redshift or AWS Aurora
- Experience building a data warehouse on AWS
- Nice to have experience with Snowflake
- Data modeling, data ingestion, data orchestration
- Good knowledge of software development practices such as versioning, CI/CD
- Knowledge of programming languages (Python)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in English
