- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable data platforms and pipelines.
- Enable data scientists by providing robust data products and data catalogs.
- Implement cloud-based data solutions using AWS, Snowflake, Databricks, and similar technologies.
- Manage and secure sensitive data and PII, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and fulfill data requirements.
- Drive the modernisation of tech platforms and promote data-driven decision-making.
- Mentor and lead a team of data engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in data engineering or a related role, with leadership experience.
- Extensive experience with AWS data platform tools, Snowflake, and Databricks.
- Strong expertise in building and optimizing data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data architectures.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and SQL.
- Familiarity with data security best practices and compliance regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex datasets.
- Outstanding communication skills for effective collaboration with global teams.
- Experience with data-driven AI/ML projects is a plus.
- Use of AI tools (e.g. Cursor, Windsurf, co-pilot etc) to enhance engineering productivity
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with real-time data processing and streaming platforms such as Apache Kafka.
- Knowledge of data warehousing and data lake architectures.
- Familiarity with governance frameworks for data management and security.
- Knowledge of Machine Learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn) and LLM frameworks (e.g., Langchain).
