Overview:

A Master Data Management (MDM) Senior Consultant specializing in SAP Master Data for Business Partner, Customer Master Management, Vendor Master Management, and Material Master Management is responsible for ensuring the strategic management, governance, and optimization of master data within these domains, even when SAP Master Data Management (MDM) and Master Data Governance (MDG) tools are not being utilized. This role involves leading requirements definition, designing and implementing alternative SAP data management solutions, and ensuring data integrity, quality, and consistency across the enterprise.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership and Management:
    • Lead and manage SAP master data workstream from requirement definition to project Go-Live. 
    • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand data needs and requirements.
    • Facilitate workshops and meetings to gather requirements and provide updates.
    • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure seamless integration and data flow.
    • Provide training and support to end-users on data management processes and tools.
  2. Solution Design and Implementation:
    • Design and implement alternative SAP data management solutions to support business processes for Business Partner, Customer Master Management, Vendor Master Management, and Material Master Management data.
    • Configure and customize SAP modules according to business requirements.
    • Develop and maintain data models, data dictionaries, and metadata repositories.
    • Ensure integration of data management solutions with other SAP and non-SAP systems.
  3. Data Governance and Quality:
    • Establish and enforce data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
    • Monitor and ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency across the organization.
    • Implement data validation, cleansing, and enrichment processes.
    • Conduct regular data audits and assessments to identify and resolve data issues.
  4. Business Partner Master Data Management:
    • Oversee the management and maintenance of Business Partner master data, including customers and vendors.
    • Ensure accurate and consistent Business Partner data across all systems.
    • Implement best practices for Business Partner data creation, updates, and deletion processes.
  5. Customer Master Management:
    • Manage Customer Master data, ensuring accurate and complete records.
    • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service departments to understand and fulfill their master data requirements.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  6. Vendor Master Management:
    • Manage Vendor Master data, ensuring accurate and complete records.
    • Collaborate with Procurement and Accounts Payable departments to understand and fulfill their master data requirements.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  7. Material Master Management:
    • Oversee the management and maintenance of Material Master data.
    • Ensure accurate and consistent Material data across all systems.
    • Implement best practices for Material data creation, updates, and deletion processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in SAP data management consulting or a related field.
  • Proven track record of leading and managing SAP data management projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of SAP modules and related technologies, especially for Business Partner, Customer Master Management, Vendor Master Management, and Material Master Management data.
  • Proficiency in SAP functional configuration and customization in the areas of Financial Accounting (FI), Sales & Distribution (SD), Material Management (MM) or Production Planning (PP).
  • Understanding of data modeling, data integration, and data migration.
  • Experience with core SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, and other SAP modules.
  • Familiarity with data governance frameworks and data quality tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Project management and organizational skills.
  • SAP S/4HANA certification in FI, SD, MM or PP is highly desirable
  • Flexibility to work remotely or on-site depending on project requirements.

 

Primarily Remote position with occasional onsite meetings
