Job Title: Data Engineer  

* Please note: This role is contingent upon a contract award. While it is not an immediate opening, we are actively conducting interviews and extending offers in anticipation of the award.

Our Health Engineering Solutions team works side by side with customers to articulate a vision for success, and then make it happen. We know success doesn't happen by accident. It takes the right team of people, working together on the right solutions for the customer. We are looking for a seasoned Data Engineer who will be a key driver to make this happen. This work affects the quality and cost of care for Medicare and Medicaid patients through the Quality Payment Program. You will be involved in a highly successful team that has a long track record of meeting deadlines and delivering quality. 

 

 

Job Location:  

Remote; however, this position requires that the job be performed in the United States and there will be travel of approximately 10% to a customer site. If you accept this position, you should note that ICF does monitor employee work locations and blocks access from foreign locations/foreign IP addresses and prohibits personal VPN connections. Our core work hours are 9am - 5pm Eastern Time with the option to start earlier or work later depending on your time zone. 

What You Will Do:  

• Document and communication requirements for data engineers. 

• Write Scala code to support the work on the Analytics and Reporting Team. 

• Utilize and write Python Scripts for ETL and Data Analysis. 

• Perform Data Validation and utilize SQL for data queries. 

• Improve Data Quality Checks 

• Update and enhance Data Documentation 

• Analyze large amounts of data to find inconsistencies using Zeppelin notebooks (Scala/Python) 

• Communicating with external partners around requirements 

  

What You Will Bring With You:  

• Bachelor’s degree (preferred in Computer Science, IT or a related field). 

• 3+ years’ experience in software or data development. 

• 3+ years of experience developing ETL pipelines and data validation with data languages like Python, Scala, PySpark Spark, or other API data sets. 

• 1+ year of experience working with SQL. 

• Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust. 

• Candidate must reside in the U.S., be authorized to work in the U.S., and all work must be performed in the U.S. 

• Candidate must have lived in the U.S. for three (3) full years out of the last five (5) years. 

 

What We Would Like You To Bring With You:  

• 5 years' experience with a bachelor’s degree. 

• Prior experience working with Medicare and/or Medicaid data, especially claims data and familiarity with claims codes (HCPCS/CPT/ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS). 

• Advanced SQL querying skills and database management knowledge. 

• Git/Github experience. 

• Experience working on a project using the Scaled Agile Framework. 

• Experience using Confluence and Jira. 

• Experience with software development team building modern software products. 

 

Professional Skills: 

• Strong problem-solving skills, able to work independently. 

• Ability and desire to take ownership of and initiative for analyses, from requirements clarification to deliverables. 

• Strong technical communication skills: both written and verbal. 

• Ability to understand and articulate the "big picture" and simplify complex ideas. 

• Ability to identify and learn new techniques independently as needed.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$73,722.00 - $125,327.00
