Mid-Level Engineering Data Scientist

Boeing's Safety and Airworthiness organization is actively seeking a Mid-Level Data Science Engineer to join their Regulatory Administration and Airworthiness (RA&A) Team based in Everett, WA. In this role, you will be a valued member of the Regulatory Administration - System Oversight Team.

They are skilled at creating and maintaining efficient processes and can set a clear vision while defining a strategic roadmap. With strong collaboration skills, they work effectively with stakeholders across the organization to achieve results. This individual communicates well with business leaders, demonstrates excellent organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities, and approaches tasks with a strong work ethic and sense of urgency. Adaptability and the ability to prioritize effectively amid multiple demands and unexpected challenges are also key strengths.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines to collect, process, and store large volumes of data from various sources

  • Optimize data storage and retrieval processes to ensure high performance and efficiency

  • Implement data quality checks and monitoring to ensure data integrity and reliability

  • Develop and maintain documentation for data processes, architectures, and workflows

  • Collaborate with a diverse team of professionals from various disciplines (e.g. data scientists and analysts, System Engineers) to achieve project goals

  • Engage in team discussions and brainstorming sessions to drive innovative solutions and enhance project outcomes

  • Foster a positive team dynamic by being a supportive team player and contributing to group efforts

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Everett, WA.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • 3+ years of experience as a Data Science Engineer or in a similar role

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R and Java

  • Experience with SQL and Data Warehousing

  • Experience with ETL tools and frameworks (e.g., Apache Airflow)

  • Experience with cloud technologies, including knowledge of Cloud Foundry and its deployment processes

  • Knowledge of data modeling, data architecture, and data governance best practices

  • Experience in business intelligence/data analytics tools (Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, etc.)

  • Experience with CI/CD, Git practices

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Master’s degree

  • Knowledge of aerospace industry standards and practices

  • Experience with Flask, Django, JavaScript, Bootstrap, HTML

  • Familiarity with machine learning/AI concepts and tools

  • Knowledge of text analysis

Summary Pay Range: $121,550 – $164,450
