We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Business Product Owner to join our team under the leadership of the Chief Data and Analytics Office (CDAO). This role will be responsible for prioritizing strategic data quality enhancements in alignment with business value and enterprise objectives. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data quality gaps, develop actionable plans, and ensure the successful implementation of solutions that enhance the integrity and reliability of our data assets.
Key Responsibilities
Product Ownership & Backlog Management
Serve as the product owner for government and public sector data quality initiatives backlog
Drive data quality initiatives on improving the accuracy of our Government, Public Sector and Education account data that’s leveraged in critical business processes throughout the enterprise with focus on organization hierarchy structures
Collaborate with stakeholders to capture, refine, and prioritize data quality initiative requests, accurately assessing business impact and value
Obtain understanding of relevant business areas, technical options, limitations, costs and risks to communicate tradeoffs and recommend solutions or suggest alternatives to proposed solutions to shape requirements
Independently drive critical data workshops with business and IT stakeholders to develop requirements and execution process while managing dependencies across teams
Actively lead and participate in regular backlog grooming sessions and sprint planning, ensuring data quality enhancements are well-defined, prioritized, and aligned with strategic goals
Define and communicate acceptance criteria, ensuring that delivered solutions meet stakeholder expectations
Maintain transparency into prioritization decisions through clear documentation and stakeholder engagement
Stakeholder Engagement
Serve as the primary point of contact for various stakeholder groups regarding government/public sector data quality initiative efforts
Translate business needs into data quality requirements and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
Manage expectations and maintain alignment across competing priorities
Provide updates and insights to stakeholder leadership on request status, impact, and value delivered
Data Quality Management
Collaborate with data stewards to ensure accurate and timely validation, enrichment, and remediation of data across account, contact, and enterprise domains
Lead data analysis on data quality initiative impact and value, ensuring data-driven decision-making in prioritizing steward efforts to align with enterprise strategy and objectives
Monitor and report on key data quality metrics, trends, and issue root causes
Ensure adherence to enterprise data governance policies and frameworks
Qualifications
Required:
5+ years of experience in data product management, business analysis, or data quality roles
Demonstrated experience and knowledge of Government/Public sector organizations, hierarchies, and structure
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field required
Demonstrated experience working with cross-functional teams in a data-centric capacity
Strong understanding of data domains such as account, contact, and enterprise hierarchies
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex business processes and data to think creatively and identify innovative business solutions
High level of attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis and documentation
Experience managing cross-functional priorities and maintaining a product backlog
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to stakeholders at all levels
Proficiency with data analysis tools and software (such as SQL, Excel, Tableau, or Power BI), and understanding of business intelligence and reporting technologies
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools, including Jira experience
Preferred:
Master’s degree or relevant professional certifications (i.e. CBAP, PMP, CAP)
Experience with data stewardship tools and platforms
Experience with data governance or master data management programs
Knowledge of Education organizations, hierarchies, and structure

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 84,000 USD - 116,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
