Noblis is seeking a Cleared Big Data SME (Multiple Levels) with IC experience and ACTIVE Top Secret with SCI and Polygraph in McLean, VA or Bethesda, MD
The Big Data SME will be responsible for and not limited to:
- Serving as a subject matter expert in Big Data technologies, providing authoritative guidance on platforms, frameworks, and tools while staying current with emerging trends.
- Providing technical knowledge and analysis for specialized applications, evaluating complex Big Data environments and assessing technical feasibility of proposed initiatives.
- Designing architecture for complex Big Data systems, creating comprehensive blueprints for data processing pipelines and establishing technical standards for implementations.
- Delivering implementation advice on exceptionally complex problems, troubleshooting technical issues and developing innovative approaches to overcome data processing limitations.
- Participating in all phases of software development including planning, analysis, testing, integration, documentation, and presentation of Big Data solutions.
- Applying advanced mathematical principles to solve difficult technical problems, developing algorithms for complex data processing and implementing statistical/ML approaches.
- Formulating automated solutions for narrowly defined engineering and scientific applications, creating specialized data workflows and custom components.
- Conducting proof of concept activities for new Big Data technologies, evaluating emerging tools, benchmarking performance, and documenting recommendations.
- Providing technical mentorship and knowledge transfer, guiding junior team members and conducting knowledge sharing on specialized Big Data topics.
- Developing technical specifications including coding standards, architectural guidelines, and performance benchmarks for Big Data systems.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams including data scientists, infrastructure teams, and data governance initiatives.
- Optimizing Big Data systems for performance, scalability, and reliability through parameter tuning and resilience pattern implementation.
- Evaluating and recommending Big Data tools and technologies, comparing commercial and open-source solutions aligned with requirements.
- Supporting production Big Data implementations with troubleshooting, operational best practices, and system monitoring strategies.
Required Qualifications
- Experience serving as a subject matter expert, possessing in-depth knowledge of Big Data.
- Experience providing technical knowledge and analysis of highly specialized applications and operational environments, high-level systems analysis, design, integration, documentation and implementation advice on exceptionally complex problems that need extensive knowledge of the subject matter for effective implementation.
- Experience participating as needed in all phases of software development with emphasis on the planning, analysis, testing, integration, documentation, and presentation phases.
- Experience applying principles, methods and knowledge of Big Data to specific task order requirements, advanced mathematical principles and methods of exceptionally difficult and narrowly defined technical problems in engineering and other scientific applications to arrive at automated solutions
Required minimum skills and knowledge:
- US Citizenship is required.
- Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, or a related field.
Multiple levels can be accommodated.
- Senior Level:
- Bachelor's degree + 6 years of experience OR Master's degree + 4 years of experience OR PhD degree + 2 years of experience
- Compensation: $117,800 - $184,100
- Expert Level:
- Bachelor's degree + 8 years of experience OR Master's degree + 6 years of experience OR PhD degree + 4 years of experience
- Compensation: $142,600 - $222,850
Desired Qualifications
• IC experience is highly desirable.• Experience with having successfully demonstrated the ability to independently conduct the appropriate analysis to offer recommendations, solutions, and alternatives to resolve issues, concerns, problems, or methods.• Experience in establishing strong working relationships with program managers as well as organization leadership; tracking task order efforts to rapidly identify and resolve potential and new problems; and identifying and resolving administrative and contractual issues related to a support services contract.• Ability to solve problems in a rapidly changing environment, and interface with customers directly. • Strong understanding of intelligence disciplines, methodologies, and the intelligence cycle. • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and team environment.

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package.
