✨ About Our Marketing & International Expansion TeamsAt Joko, our Marketing team is both a creative powerhouse and a data-driven engine. From building a distinctive brand to scaling growth through automation and AI, we're on a mission to make shopping smarter and serve our users better, globally.
As we accelerate our international expansion, the US is our top priority. Two of our co-founders, Nico and Xavier, are leading the International Expansion team from NYC, supported by Janna, our US Partnership Lead in California, and Laura, our International Expansion Manager in Lyon.
In this role, you'll report directly to Luisa, our Head of Brand & Communications in the Marketing team based in Barcelona. You will be part of the Marketing team and work closely with the Founders and the International Expansion team to ensure seamless and lasting impact in the US market.
🎯 What you will doWe're looking for a US Marketing Manager to lead all US-focused marketing efforts at Joko.
You'll be responsible for making sure our brand, campaigns, and content truly connect with American consumers. From defining strategy to executing campaigns, you'll be in charge of conceptualizing and producing all US Marketing assets - from lifecycle to promotional CRM campaigns - as well as managing the US Campaign Calendar and merchandising strategies.
You'll work closely with our Europe-based Marketing team, acting as the bridge between the US market and our global vision. That's why we're looking for someone based in Europe: this role requires tight day-to-day collaboration with our team here, while also bringing strong cultural knowledge of the US.
This is a unique opportunity for an agile, hands-on marketer who understands both the American audience and the dynamics of working in a fast-paced international environment.
Own and craft CRM content which resonates with US users
Develop and write localized content for email, push notifications, and in-app messages across the full customer journey, from transactional and lifecycle messages to promotional campaigns.
Work hand-in-hand with the global CRM team to create and optimize content specifically for US customers, ensuring all communications are culturally relevant and delivered at optimal times.
Leverage AI tools to craft content in a scalable and efficient way and continuously optimize for engagement and performance.
Design and adapt email template visuals that perfectly adapt to the content you create.
Drive smart targeting & user segmentation
Define segmentation strategies to ensure communications reach the right users at the right time, based on behavioral and transactional insights.
Work with the central Content Factory and Ops teams to test, iterate, and improve performance.
Be the voice of the American user by bringing sharp local insights on shopping behavior and expectations.
Localize Campaigns & Merchandising for the US market
Partner with the Campaign & Merchandising team to adapt campaign roadmaps to the US retail calendar and key moments (e.g., Memorial Day, Back to School, Black Friday).
Make sure seasonal campaigns feel native, authentic, and high-impact for American audiences.
Tailor product highlights and merchandising logic to align with US shopping habits and brand expectations.
👀 Preferred Experience
We’re looking for a marketer with a builder mindset, someone who understands the American consumer, moves fast, and thrives in high-ownership environments. You’ll be a great fit if you:
Have 2-3+ years of experience in consumer marketing, ideally in a high-growth tech, e-commerce.
Were raised in the US (or have spent a significant portion of your professional career in the US) and have a deep understanding of American consumer behavior, retail cycles, and cultural nuances.
Bring strong content creation expertise across channels such as email, push, in-app, and website, with a proven ability to create messaging that resonates with US audiences.
You master AI-powered tools (e.g., GPT, Gemini, Perplexity) to scale content production while keeping it sharp and on-brand.
Have an analytical mindset, capable of translating data into actionable insights that drive smarter marketing decisions.
Are tech-savvy and hands-on with modern marketing tools, including CRM platforms like Customer.io or Braze, no-code website tools like Webflow, design tools like Figma for collaboration and creative production.
Are autonomous and well-organized, with a self-starter mentality and the ability to own multiple areas of marketing without losing focus.
