Position: Technical Data Architect

Location: Washington DC (4 days onsite in a week)

 

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Data Architect/Engineer. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing modern data solutions, ensuring scalability, consistency, and performance. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, business-specific data solutions using cutting-edge technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create reference architectures and standards to enable effective delivery solutions.
  • Implement modern data lakehouse architecture using Delta Lake to ensure data reliability and performance.
  • Design scalable data pipelines using Azure Databricks for ETL/ELT processes and real-time data integration.
  • Define data models for medallion architectures to support structured and unstructured data workflows.
  • Develop solutions for performance and cost optimization by leveraging cloud technologies.
  • Design automation solutions to ensure reusability, consistency, and efficiency across data processes.
  • Define approaches for data self-service using tools like Power BI and Databricks.
  • Establish integration patterns for Power BI to enhance reporting and analytics capabilities.
  • Collaborate with Data Product Managers to determine business-specific application needs and requirements.
  • Compile and implement application development plans for new or existing applications.
  • Lead the application development team, supervising the design, testing, and modification stages.
  • Demonstrate application prototypes and integrate user feedback to refine and improve solutions.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience in designing and implementing modern data architectures, including data lakehouses and medallion architectures.
  • Expertise in Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, and cloud technologies for data engineering and analytics.
  • Strong knowledge of ETL/ELT processes, real-time data integration, and scalable pipeline design.
  • Proficiency in Power BI for creating data self-service solutions and integration patterns.
  • Solid understanding of automation frameworks and best practices for reusability and consistency.
  • Excellent leadership and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a focus on performance optimization and cost efficiency.
  • Experience in application development, including planning, design, testing, and deployment.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced certifications in Azure or other cloud platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with modern data engineering tools and frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
