Position Summary:

The Senior Research Analyst will work as part of the Efficacy and Research team within Product and Technology and will collaborate extensively with other departments within PVS and Connections Academy schools. Working from a home office, the Senior Research Analyst will be a vital member of a highly-collaborative team charged with surfacing new insights about customer needs and practices that lead to learner success—information that feeds new school practices, product development, investment, and company strategy. 

The Senior Research Analyst is responsible for providing support with gathering customer insights, research design and implementation, database exploration and management, data analyses, and the preparation of data visualizations using tools that best convey insights to a variety of audiences. 

Candidates with a background in data systems, visualizations, and analysis as well as experience working with K-12 educational and/or virtual programs are strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Explore large datasets and relational databases to generate insights and reports relevant to student learning, teacher effectiveness, and other ongoing areas of interest.
  • Integrate student performance, survey, and demographic data into analyses of effective learner practices.
  • Work collaboratively to design and implement meaningful analyses of the efficacy of PVS products, services, and instructional practices. 
  • Work with teams across PVS and Connections Academy schools to solve problems and generate new processes and tools based on research and data insights.
  • Generate research and easily digestible reports/visualizations of effective practices related to student learning, teaching, and other ongoing areas of interest.

Required:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent certificates in educational measurement and statistics or a science-related field 
  • Experience with research design, statistical analysis, data visualization, and data management. 
  • Working knowledge of R programming language, Python, and/or SQL 

Preferred:

  • Experience with product development, digital technology, and/or K-12 education
  • Familiarity with any of the following tools: Google BigQuery, PowerBI
