How you contributeThis role offers an excellent career opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager to join our Sales team and contribute to the expansion of our business. You will be responsible for growing topline revenue from the sale of Emesent products by developing and maintaining long-term strategic relationships with new and existing clients. In this role, you will be expected to perform all the activities required to support customer problems from the initial meeting or demonstration to technical closure.
Our flagship product, Hovermap, is a smart mobile scanning unit that combines advanced collision avoidance and autonomous flight technologies to map hazardous and GPS-denied environments. Its award-winning technology utilises innovative hardware, advanced algorithms, and machine learning to automate collection and analysis of the physical world. Equally capable above ground or underground, indoors, or out, Hovermap is a complete mobile LiDAR mapping solution. Hovermap is uniquely versatile, it can be backpack, drone, or vehicle-mounted to map challenging, inaccessible areas enabling our customers to gain insights that were not possible before.
With multiple applications across several industries and a rapidly growing customer base, Hovermap and our other solutions are being used commercially for a variety of applications by enterprise customers around the world.

You will be responsible for growing topline revenue from the sale of Emesent products by developing and maintaining long-term strategic relationships with new and existing clients. In this role, you will be expected to perform all the activities required to support customer problems from the initial meeting or demonstration to technical closure.
Here's what we need
- Develop and execute a regional business plan for expanding and supporting customers in Australia / New Zealand and building targeted account plans, resulting in a robust business growth pipeline.
- Support direct sales through co-marketing campaigns with the other sales representatives and our marketing team.
- Enable and increase the competence of partners (training, demos, sales calls, etc.)
- Monitor the performance of resellers against sales and customer experience KPIs.
- Build and maintain relationships with customers, influence long-term strategic direction and act as a trusted advisor to ensure retention and growth in spend
- Conduct periodic business reviews to ensure accurate forecasting and opportunity management of resellers; analyse wins and losses; and present regular, accurate reports for management review.
- Drive business growth by delivering increased year-on-year revenue, gross profit and total contract value (TCV).
- Identify key customers, opportunities, and emerging markets.
- Work with internal Emesent stakeholders to ensure customers receive the full value of their system investment
- Provide customer and market-led input that helps to inform Emesent’s future product strategy.
- Meet/exceed annual sales targets and performance KPIs.
- Represent Emesent as required at shows & exhibitions within your territory and globally.
How you’ll succeed
- 5+ years of experience in channel sales and/or business development in a technical industry.
- Proven track record of selling consultative solutions and securing customer commitment to achieve joint objectives.
- Strong customer-facing presentation and influencing skills.
- Demonstrated Sales Management experience.
- Build and maintain a strong understanding of the industry and competitor trends.
- Ability to sell top-down in customer organisations; from the C-suite to site personnel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to travel throughout the Australia/New Zealand region.
