NA Business Operations Department

The Business Operations team is committed to operational excellence, supporting business needs with service support, vendor management, standards and transformation, and property management. Position Overview

This role will work from our Headquarters location in Denver, CO (Cherry Creek area).

Vantage is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Azure Data Engineer with Power BI expertise to join our Data & Analytics team. This role involves architecting and building robust data pipelines and analytical solutions on Microsoft Azure, as well as designing and developing compelling Power BI dashboards for business users. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with deep expertise in Azure data services, ETL processes, data modeling, and visualization.

Essential Job Functions

  • Design, develop, and optimize scalable and secure data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure Databricks, and related services.

  • Implement data integration, transformation, and orchestration pipelines from a variety of sources (SQL, APIs, cloud storage, etc.).

  • Create and maintain data models and data warehouses to support business intelligence and reporting.

  • Design and develop advanced Power BI reports and dashboards, enabling stakeholders to make data-driven decisions.

  • Collaborate with business analysts, data scientists, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

  • Implement data quality, data governance, and performance tuning practices to ensure reliability and scalability.

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior data engineers.

  • Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and best practice enforcement.

  • Additional duties as assigned by Management

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure.

  • Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake, and Azure SQL Database.

  •  Strong proficiency in SQL, data modeling, and performance tuning.

  •  Advanced Power BI development skills, including DAX, Power Query (M), and report design.

  • Experience building and optimizing data pipelines and workflows in cloud environments.

  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices related to data solutions.

  • Strong understanding of data architecture, ETL best practices, and data security principles.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.

  • Travel required is expected to be up to 20% but may increase over time as the business evolves (required do not remove)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate or equivalent certifications.

  • Experience with Python or Scala in the context of data processing (e.g., in Databricks).

  • Familiarity with Git, Azure DevOps, and Agile methodologies.

  • Knowledge of other BI tools (Tableau, Looker) is a plus.

  • Experience working with big data and real-time streaming data (Event Hubs, Kafka) is a plus

Additional Details

  • Salary Range: $140,000 - 150,000 Base + Bonus (this range is based on Colorado market data and may vary in other locations)

  • This position is eligible for company benefits including but not limited to medical, dental, and vision coverage, life and AD&D, short and long-term disability coverage, paid time off, employee assistance, participation in a 401k program that includes company match, and many other additional voluntary benefits.

  • Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including your qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
